Drowning in deficits, Illinois has turned to a deliberate policy of not paying billions of dollars in bills for months at a time, creating a cycle of hardship and sacrifice for residents and businesses helping the state carry out some of the most important government tasks.

Advice to all Ill. residents: Increase your number of claimed dependents to reduce your withholding, make the least possible estimated tax payments, especially to the State, making sure you owe it money at the end of the year so it can't stiff yhou on a refund. Also, if at all possible, leave that cesspit ASAP and move to a free state, like TN or TX, provided you don't bring any DemonRat contamination with you.

The fall of Chicago will make Detroit look like a shining city on a hill in comparison.

they almost doubled the income tax and doubled the corporate tax ...:temorarily”. They didn’t pass the bill until later in january and made it retroactive.

Come April,.people in Illinois will have a conniption over the tax due.

I assure you that ALL government employees, past and present, are recieving their pay, pensions, and benefits ON TIME, without interruption......paid for by Taxpayers, of course.

Vendors, contracted goods and services, etc. will be non-paid bills.

Illinois is the state that brought us Barack Obama. It is the state the 14 Wisconsin Democratic state senators fled to earlier this year. It is now the state of Rahm Emanuel.

Illinois might be the most liberal state in the country.

Government spending and taxes keep increasing. Businesses are leaving the state in droves, the unemployment rate is at 9.9%, and more and more of their population is driven into welfare.

This is a preview of what Obama and the Democrats will do to America if we don't get him out of their.

2012 is the most important election in our lifetimes. If we don't change things completely, it will be too late.

Get involved. The Tea Party needs everyone's help. We must throw them out in 2012.

Illinois has become a city-state.

A little corrupt city like Chicago can't run a whole state.

They need to move the capital.

DING! Winner! Exactly correct. I'm stuck here in Illinois a few more years due to family obligations. Once those are over, I'm the hell outta here.

I live in Illinois. Yes they can, and yes they do. Nearly 2/3rds of this state's voters live in Chicago or the nearby suburbs.

Whatever Chicago votes for, the rest of us poor suckers in this state are stuck with. I see the bullsh*t first hand here, every day.

Drowning in deficits, Illinois has turned to a deliberate policy of not paying billions of dollars in bills for months at a time,

By the way, this is not a recent phenomenon here in the People's Socialist RepubliK of Illannoyed, this "practice" has been going on 8 of the last 10 years as this state has been run into the ground by Democrats. Up until right about 2001, we didn't have these problems. As soon as Lyin' George Ryan -a Progressive/Liberal Republican was elected was when this state's problems began in earnest.

Rod Blagojevich who was elected after Ryan's one and only term in office (Ryan's now in jail) mashed the wild, wreckless spending spree pedal to the floor and made this state's problems 10x worse.

Blagojevich was convicted a few months ago, I can't wait to see him go to jail for the mess he created. Pat Quinn, the current governor(and Blago's Lieutenant Governor) isn't any better. He wants to spend $4 BILLION dollars more this year than the state budgeted - or has money for - even after the son of a bitch jacked up income taxes here 66%.

I hate this state, every politician in it, and I can't wait to get the f*** out.

Our company is actually refusing to do business with the State of Illinois because many of their vendors have to wait up to ONE YEAR before getting paid.

I’m not saying they don’t. I’m saying they can’t. All the roads and other services of a whole state - they can’t do it. They are so focused on that one democraphole.

The county commissioners of Collier County Florida are asking the Florida Governor to assist them in luring the Chicago Mercantile and Chicago Board Options Exchanges (CME and CBOE) to Florida, a non-Income Tax state (by the Florida Constitution).

Like New York State and Maryland, these states are learning that there is a very specific ability and desire of the wealthy, they want to stay wealthy and they have the means to do so. Moving these organizations with modern technology is no longer an insurmountable obstacle.

Just recently another wealthy individual made that transition;

"Buffalo Sabres owner, Tom Golisano, packed up his bags and moved his residency from his native Rochester, New York to Naples, Florida. The move was predicated by the NY tax structure that is affecting so many citizens of the state. Golisano estimates that he can save close to $14,000 a day by making Florida his permanent residence. "

Right now I hear that Wisconsin and Indiana are also soliciting disgruntled Illinois companies like CAT to just move a few miles away and ditch the corruption cesspit!

They control the entire state due to Chicago literally sucking up all this state's resources (read that: TAX DOLLARS.)

You truly have to live in Illinois to see what happens first hand in order to understand it.

Read recently the Illinois Toll Authority is set to double tolls - again, and that water rates are also to double soon.

If you don't need the money right away, they pay it back eventually with an outstanding interest rate.

I’ve got a ringside seat about 40 miles west or so. When it happens I’m going to pour myself 3 fingers of bourbon, lit a cigar, and watch the rosy glow as the south and west sides of that cesspool go up in flames.

And I’m going to laugh and laugh and laugh....

All vendors to the state of Illinois should tell the people who pay the bills “cash only”. No credit. No cash, NO goods or services. If no one will do business with the state other than cash, it sends a message. Of course each vendor has to have a backbone of steel.

what I don’t understand is that Chicago has a lot of immigrant heritage...good solid Poles and Germans etc....how did they become so apathetic to allow this kind of criminal enterprise to flourish?

Not sure where you live, if you're in Chicago, the Suburbs or where .... but I've seen the suburban population of Poles, German's, Italians and Greeks EXPLODE due to their exiting the city. There is still a small portion of "German" and "Greek" pockets in the city that I used to be familiar with, but they're far smaller now than they were say 20 years ago. Same thing with Little Italy, most of it's just restaurants and funeral homes, the "old neighborhood" moved out but still maintain their businesses in the city.

I was reading at one point that federal grants, subsidies, etc prop up about half the budgets of some states and localities. I'm going to guess that Chicago and Illinois are included.

That's why Obama is so desperate about the "Jobs Bill". He needs to maintain the solvency of a number of Dem enclaves. If they cease to have federal money to keep them afloat, Chicago, Detroit, NYC, and other places would be unable to support so many worthless Dem voters.

Visualize a Chicago which was no longer able to afford Welfare or large numbers of public employees, where the only way you could live there would be if you worked a private-sector job.

You'd be guessing right. The unfunded mandates (debt) and debt that Illinois has, far exceeds that of any other state in the country, California included.

This state is a freaking joke. The unions all vote Democrat here (no surprise) when it's the Democrats that have raided all the teachers and government workers pension funds.

The last governor to fully fund Teachers and State workers pensions here was (surprise, surprise!) a Republican, former Governor Jim Edgar.

The dem's here couldn't wait to get him out of office, now I hope they're cying in their beer after the raping, pillaging and plundering that Blagojevich (former governor, now on his way to jail) and the current governor Pat Quinn have done.

That’s what I’m saying. It’s become a city-state. Don’t assume others don’t know. We’ve seen some stuff too.
