The Exasperation of the Democratic Billionaire ( Mortimer Zuckerman )
wsj ^ | OCTOBER 15, 2011 | JAMES FREEMAN

Posted on 10/15/2011 6:40:45 PM PDT by george76

Real-estate and newspaper mogul Mortimer Zuckerman voted for Obama but began seeing trouble as soon as the stimulus went into the pockets of municipal unions.

'It's as if he doesn't like people," says real-estate mogul and New York Daily News owner Mortimer Zuckerman ...

The Boston Properties CEO is trying to understand why Mr. Obama has made little effort to build relationships on Capitol Hill or negotiate a bipartisan economic plan. A longtime supporter of the Democratic Party, Mr. Zuckerman wrote in these pages two months ago that the entire business community was "pleading for some kind of adult supervision" in Washington and "desperate for strong leadership." Writing soon after the historic downgrade of U.S. Treasury debt by Standard & Poor's, he wrote, "I long for a triple-A president to run a triple-A country."

His words struck a chord. ...Zuckerman reports that among Democrats, "The sense is that the policies of this government have failed. . . . What they say about [Mr. Obama] when he's not in the room, so to speak, is astonishing."...

Zuckerman ponders the Occupy Wall Street movement, he concludes that "the door to it was opened by the Obama administration, going after the 'millionaires and billionaires' as if everybody is a millionaire and a billionaire and they didn't earn it. . . . To fan that flame of populist anger I think is very divisive and very dangerous for this country."

...

Mr. Zuckerman says that when you also consider the labor-force participation rate and the so-called "birth-death series" that measures business starts and failures, the real U.S. unemployment rate is now 20%. His voice rising with equal parts anger and sadness, he exclaims, "That's not America!"

'It's as if he doesn't like people,"

No, he doesn't. He feels contempt for everyone but himself. That's perfectly obvious.

It's called malignant narcissism. Don't say you weren't warned about it.

One of the benefits of being brought up by strict parents who demanded that their kids live by The Golden Rule is that I don’t suffer from “white guilt”. I didn’t feel obligated to vote for a communist just because of his skin tone.

VERY telling comment, this:
“It’s as if he doesn’t like people,”

I know Zuck’s a little late to the party, gosh, who knew? right?
BONEHEAD

Still, it is worthwhile to note that narcissists actually loathe themselves.
Yes, they can be “charming”, but underneath the facade, when their ACTIONS reveal who they are,
you’ll see they project & blameshift their self-loathing outwardy...
So he’s right,
N’s really really really...DON’T like people.

...as if everybody is a millionaire and a billionaire and they didn't earn it...

It's projection, as with the Kennedys, Jay Rockefeller, Mark Dayton, et al. He knows deep down he's never truly earned a dime of his millions, and assumes it's the same with every one of the "haves".

Obama is the best hypnotist in the world. He was able to put many of our most successful business leader into a trance so that they weren't able to process the fact, despite mountains of evidence, that he is a apparatchik.

Well Mortimer Zuckerman, the first thing you need to ask yourself is how ANYONE, but especially a businessman can be so stupid to vote for the demoRAT rat bastard socialist party in the first place, especially for a commie POS pig like 0dumb0! The demoRAT party has been socialist and anti-business ever since FDR, in fact even back to Woodrow Wilson.

I question Zuckerman's intelligence (and other liberal demoRAT CEOs) if he could not see this trainwreck & deliberate undermining of our country coming from the commie rat bastard pig 0dumb0! Zuckerman needs to pull his head out of his ass and quit voting for any demoRATs, but especially no more votes or contributions for 0dumb0!

Exactly.

It is not as if Obama's ideology and agenda and incompetence were somehow hidden from view, only to become visible after he got into office.

How can so many supposedly smart people have been such blind, credulous fools and dupes to have supported the guy...

In other words, Mr. Zuckerman, you and your ilk are responsible for providing the funds that were necessary to foist this Communist on the American people and now you want to stand on the sidelines in disbelief and point out his character flaws. Thanks Morty.

Nice of him to figure this out, after spending how much time regurgitating Demwit talking points as well as the obfuscation and denial of Zero's alleged life story.

I don’t care if these people who voted for Obama are now regretting their choice, but there is only one way for them to pay restitution, they need to do what they can to get this clown out of office.

Zuck is schmuck, talking out of both sides of his mouth at the same time. On the one hand, he's says that the Obama Administration has brought about the Occupy Wall Street phenomenon by its constant attacks on the millionaires and billionaires. On the other, he's saying the protesters should be admired.

I still can't figure out how someone who did what he did in the private sector (if there is such a thing anymore) can be as far to the left as he is, supporting Obama's candidacy in 2008 and giving contributions to the likes of Tom Lantos and George Miller.

He's your typical pro-big government crony capitalist. Why the WSJ would even be interested in his political views and do a piece on them is hard to fathom.

Until he proves otherwise by a marked change in his rag sheet of a newspaper's political endorsements and editorials and his magazine's content, Zuck is a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat. Who else would use his considerable resources to underwrite fraud and cheating in the American electoral process via a contribution to the Al Franken Recount Fund?
