Obama Says MLK Jr. Would Have Supported Occupy Wall Street

In a belated dedication speech for the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial today, President Obama suggested that the civil rights leader would have stood on the side of Occupy Wall Street:

"At this moment when our politics appear so sharply polarized and faith in our institutions so greatly diminished we need more than ever to take heed of Dr. King's teachings," the president said.

"If he were alive today, I believe he would remind us that the unemployed worker can rightly challenge the excesses of Wall Street without demonizing all who work there," he said, adding: "Aligning our reality with our ideals often requires the speaking of uncomfortable truths and the creative tension of non-violent protest."

I find that hard to believe. When Dr. King was organizing for social change, he certainly wouldn't have tolerated the type of behavior taking place in Zucotti Park. There was a particular goal, and everyone knew that they had to dress and act in a respectable manner in order to garner change. The King Center published the Six Steps of Non-Violent Social Change:

I doubt Dr. King would have wanted to be associated with these kooks.

Ken Salazar said that equality still has a long way to go. Shortly after that, America’s first black president spoke.

Apparently we have to make Obama emperor to go far enough.

MLK, Jr. would also have supported ObamaCare and the rest of the Socialist agenda. So what? Who cares what MLK, Jr. would have or would not have supported? The rule of law stands for what’s right regardless of who does or doesn’t support it. Mobs that disturb the peace and freedom of others should be stopped and violators arrested regardless of who supports them.

MLK would have looked at Zero and said: “Who’s the white guy?”

Martin Luther King, Jr. would have nothing to do with these Wall Street Occupier groups. Anyone who believes that does not know anything about him and need to read his speeches, which I thought was required reading for the elite universities of the NE.

And Lenin would have supported Obama. As long as we’re making comparisons.

MLK would have stood with the Tea Party protestors too. There, I’ve said something every bit as truthful and verifiable as what 0 said.

To be emperor he has to have a civilian army, just as well funded and just as well armed. Remember that one? He’s on his way of getting it.

He is supporting Anarchy in America.

He's doing everything possible to stay in the Whitehouse and he knows the election is lost for him.

Sadly I heard some of this tired speech today. Did anyone else notice how he got blacker as the speech went on? His pattern of speech changed to that of a hip hop black preacher.

Why is it that he only acts black when it suits him? He needs the votes.

I doubt he would have wanted to be associated with Obama, either.

How utterly ignorant & offensive. The civil rights movement was rightfully based on a clear violation of the Constitution; discriminating against a race created equal in the eyes of God & our laws. So how does being envious of the wealthy - exercising their constitutional rights to make a living - equate to racial discrimination? Nobody, I mean nobody, has a right to someone else’s property. And nobody owes you...you owe yourself! It’s called freedom; it’s called accountability. Obama is encouraging civil disobedience, a scorched earth policy, to maintain power. It is simply treasonous!
