Long ago, there was an FR discussion thread on this topic - thought it was already 16 billion - equal to all the humans that had ever been born since recorded history.

The answer of course, is abstinence or contraception. Not abortion that the developed nations are imposing on third worlders.

“I regret to have made all those children,” says Godelive Ndageramiwe.

"I regret to have made all those children," says Godelive Ndageramiwe. "If I were to start over, I would only make two or three."

Good little disciple of Hillary.

The answer of course, is abstinence or contraception. Not abortion that the developed nations are imposing on third worlders.

Cousin of the disciple.

Human beings are not chattel and are the source of prosperity in the most comprehensive use of the word - not a hindrance.

Gawd, how can people be so f(((*g stupid?

Get rid of the Muslims, Communists, and "liberals," and we'll come out okay.

Not to worry. In a hundred years they’ll all be dead anyway. Well most of them. The first recorded billion population was in 1804 but I read somewhere it was 1839.

You say the answer is contraception - are you a Malthusian leftist?

The Catholic Church founded by Christ makes it clear that artificial contraception is gravely immoral.

I never wanted more than one or two kids.

My first wife and I had two girls. My new wife brought a 15 year old daughter into our marriage with her.

We are expecting (at 42 and 40 respectively) our first son.

We were not planning on having another child but God blessed us. We are debating contraception vs sterilization after our son is delivered.

Me? I’d just as soon he have a sibling closer to his age....but I am not the one that would be getting pregnant.

There are how many billions of acres of land on this earth that are not currently lived on or producing food?

The earth can handle it.

It isn’t our job to handle it. Wherever they reside, it is their job to handle it.

You can’t micro manage the world. It won’t work.

The founders of the United States knew that many moons ago. Shame people didn’t listen and learn.

The real answer to overpopulation is free market prosperity. When a society becomes wealthier the birthrate universally drops. That is why formerly turd world countries like Mexico and India have plunging birthrates.

There is no need for government intervention if you are concerned about too many people. Just enable Burundi to develop their own free economy and that Burundi woman's kids won't have ten more, they'll have two or three, like she said she wishes she had.
