If you have already signed this letter in the original September 25,2011 thread, your signature is needed once again.
After some constructive suggestions, the "The3000: An Open Letter to President Obama" organization has reformatted and re-written the letter to be more effective.
Personal Signatures are in the way of a comment. This is so you can add your personal thoughts on Obama screwing up our foreign policy and putting our troops in danger.
There is also a sign up for your blog or organization.

Your help is once again needed.
Thank you
You don't really expect a letter to do any good, do you?

Adding this just so folks know what the heck you are talking about:
Those of us who support our troops are are very concerned about the safety of our Soldiers under this proposal, and we have composed an open letter to the President to share our concerns. “Read” and “Sign” the letter at this website...
As we approach December 31, there are increasing debates about the exact nature of our withdrawal from Iraq. A recent development in these debates is your proposal to leave 3000 combat troops behind in Iraq, following the withdrawal of the main combat forces. Of great concern are the reports that this proposal is in direct opposition to the advice of your own military commanders, who have warned you of the dangers of leaving such a reduced number of troops in Iraq.
It is our understanding that you have not yet presented your rationale for leaving those 3000 troops behind. However, on the face of it, your proposal appears to be reckless and disregarding of the safety of those brave American Soldiers who have already given so much for their country during this war.
It is our position that the withdrawal of US combat forces from Iraq must, and should, be governed and executed with total consideration for the safety of our troops. Further, we believe that, in the best interests of the safety of our troops, you should either pull ALL of the troops out, or you should follow the level of troop strength recommendations advised to you by your Generals on the ground.
We are continuing to monitor this situation closely as we continue to pray for the safety of our Soldiers.
Sincerely,
Thank you

Nephew is over in “the stan” as we speak.
He completed one tour once in Iraq already.
His unit is spending all of their time going form base-to-base
shutting them down and packing up and shipping anything of value.
He is out of there in April or so.
Already been told he would have to change his MOS if he wants to re-up.
Lot’s of boys will be coming home looking for civilian jobs.
Problem is: there ain’t none.
I have been looking for someone to send a Holiday box.
Any chance you would like to share his name and address?
I could ship before Thanksgiving. If he has a big family and would rather share it with a friend...that is fine too.
Private email is a good idea and you can email trooprally for references about me. He might give me a good one. LOL
Please let him know that contrary to media reports, Americans do appreciate his service. Prayers for his safe return.

An open letter to Obama is a pointless exercise in futility.
It presumes that he (and his handlers) care what you think, and can be influenced by that.
Neither is true. 10 million signatures would mean nothing.
It will however get you on a list. These people are paranoid and despotic. There are lists being compiled.
Understood that Obambi has his own agenda, even throwing leftists under the bus.
And I am already on The List after going up against “Billie” Ayres in Baltimore among other anti-leftists activities.
But this letter is also for out military. They need to know that America still believes in them, still deeply appreciates their service to our Country, and that we love them.
During Vietnam, there was no internet so the “silent majority” felt like we were all alone in our support of the troops. Just like with the “occupiers” now, back then the biased lame street media made a small number of anti-war protestors seem like the whole Country.
This letter helps our troops and keeps us together.

I’d sign it, but personally I think it’s a waste of time. This mope in the White House listens to nobody but the narcissist in the mirror.
