Yea, he was checking the mike. Yep, it was working. And like you said, they were SHOCKED by what he said...just as shocked as the people on this site claim to be by the thought of an electric fence keeping Illegals out (no pun intended).

I can agree there are some questions about the instate tuition thing but keep in mind this was a Texas State Legislature item that passed by a vote of 177 - 4. It’s a right of the state to spend their money the way they choose. Now you may not elect to do that in your state and that’s the right of the people of your state.

LOL. Notice that I laid out exactly what Perry needs to do to get back into good graces with the Republicans, in Post 31.
It was a serious suggestion to the most serious problem that he had...yet they ignored it completely. That leads me to believe that they’re not quite what they claim to be (i.e., just average-Joe’s supporting Perry).
Looks like Cain is quickly learning to be a politician.

A lot of our friends south of the boarder were probably looking forward to this new challenge and job offer. Now this is supposed to be just a joke? Heartless! Me too. And like I was pointing out last weekend, FAR FEWER people will be killed trying to mess with a live wire at the top of the fence than are killed EVERY YEAR in the Arizona desert...after they’ve crossed over. Why, because people aren’t STUPID ENOUGH to challenge a well-constructed fence of that type. A few will...of course, but far less than what we have to clean up from the desert.
And yes, EVERYONE in Mexico will know EXACTLY how that fence is built. Why? Because they are not the IDIOTS that people on this site seem to think they are, they have TVs, and they will be more than well-informed as to the dangers of challenging that fence.
In other words, the fence will be LIFE-SAVER, with or without a live wire...and probably save even more lives with the wire, as far fewer people will dare to challenge it.
Yep, it is very clear how Cain the TALKER operates when he messes things up with his TALKING. First he says that he was joking then he apologizes for his stupid comments, and then he goes on as if nothing happened at all. With a man who has no governing record to judge him with, no policy that he enacted to judge him with, no vote on any policy to judge him, but only a record of TALK and TALK and TALK (and yeah Pizza CEO record LOL) and yet he thinks that he can get away with TALKING foolishness and no one would judge him on it.

That’s my point. What goes up must come down. Hell remember Howard Dean in 04 and his early primary lead. Perry jumped in and crashed. Now Cain has become the ‘flavor of the month or maybe its week’. Shoot Dewey even won back in the day.
Politics is a game of ups/downs and the trick is to be the up when it becomes time to pull the lever. We aren’t at that time in the campaign just yet.
