Whether this works or not, there WILL be some discoveries in the next several years that will drastically reduce the cost and increase the accessibility of energy. The incentives, and the currently unused inventiveness of engineers, etc. (”the unemployed engineer working in the garage”) are bound to make this happen.

Oh what a wonderful fantasy... For this sort of energy to be so cheap and abundant that the price of oil would drop back to $5 a barrel (it would always have some value, for manufacturing and lubrication). Seeing the OPEC countries economies crash would be so cool! How wonderful would it to be able to tell the Saudis, the Kuwaitis, Iraq, Iran, and the rest of those countries to GO POUND SAND!

May i ask, why don't you build one? With your smarts, knowledge of the device and connections you should be able to put one together for about $500 and a trip to Lowes. Nickel powder can be found online.

The device is supposed to turn Hydrogen and Nickel into Copper.

Do the math: Hydrogen atomic number 1, atomic weight 1.00794
Nickel AN 28, AW 58.6934
Copper AN 29, AW 63.546

Doesn't add up. The only feasible reaction would yield Cu-59, which is radioactive and simply decays back into nickel.

Like nuclear energy, television, radio, telephone, telegraph, the internal combustion engine, steam-engine driven looms, steam engines, water-wheel driven grist mills, water wheels, etc, etc, etc, back to the beginning of technology, were all too good to be true?
