you mean she didn’t cannibalize the baby’s stem cells so that she could go on living the life and watching “Dancing with the stars?”

Watch the video at the link. If you don’t cry, you are made of stone. God bless this woman and her child.

Sacrifice is the language of love and this mom spoke it with eloquence. Rest in Peace and may perpetual light shine upon her!

Every woman who carries a child significantly risks her own life in order to bring a new life into this world and this woman put her child’s life above her own.

Hey Leftists! How’s that for a choice you wouldn’t ever have the guts to make?!?!

I lost my daughter in April under the same circumstances. One week she learned she was pregnant; the next week she learned she had cancer. Docs wanted to abort the baby and begin chemo and radiation and she declined. Healthy baby boy was born the following October and his mother saw him grow into the sweetest child imaginable before she passed. I honor her memory with so much admiration.

Wow, thanks for sharing. Your daughter is a hero in my book. I served, fought and studied about some great Marines and to me what your daugher did was as great as any of them. You should be so proud of yourself also for bringing up such a wonderful person that would show the love your daughter did.

This woman is a true heroine. However, I think freepers should be aware — please correct me if I'm wrong about this — that this mother went beyond what pro-life morality would demand. While it would have been wrong to abort her child, it would not have been wrong to roll the dice and have the chemo (while still pregnant). That she did not have chemo is truly admirable, but is more than what the prolife movement would demand.

Yes, I agree. I’m glad this woman had a choice. Bless her.

Exactly true, utahagen: if she had decided the other way and gone through with the chemo, that would have been both legally and morally blameless: that is, legitimate treatments to save a mother's ARE morally justified, and are NOT in the same category as abortion, even if the baby dies.

Which makes this woman's decision even more admirable, because it was above and beyond: a sheer, grace-filled, superabundant gift.

Courageous woman! Where is/was the father in all of this?

I had no idea, sarasota. What rejoicing amidst the sorrow, what love in tears. Bless the sweet baby, and bless your courageous daughter forever.

No mention of the baby-daddy anywhere. It must have been immaculate conception.

I imagine the father’s desires wouldn’t really be relevant. Even if she were married, what would it have mattered to freepers if he wanted her to choose chemo, and not the baby? Seems that this would be entirely her choice.

The point is that this story simply ignores any ‘father’.

She just is all happy that she is pregnant and texts her BROTHER 159 times about it.

No mention of who is the father, as if its not important at all.

And why didn’t the baby go to the father on her death?
