Hey beg to differ Romney is not a RINO. He is probably a good Republican. He is CINO - a conservative in name only. [Conservative is the name Republicans claim at election time]. Regards,

Photobucket

I think the GOP elites are painting him as a conservative, like they did with Chris Christie.

I feel your pain, and I can’t blame you for sitting it out if Romney is the nominee.

If Romney is the GOP's pick...we could lose this country of ours.

Romney is from the northeast, so I don't see regional pride as a motivating factor. I was in NJ when Mario Cuomo was being considered as a candidate way back when. My “regional pride” would not let me wish him on anyone.

Christie and Romney are not that far apart in their big government ideology. The media would have focused on Christie versus Romney just as it did with Perry versus Romney. It didn't hurt Romney nearly as much as the other candidates. I stand by “manipulate” because the media presentation would have been that these are the only two “real” candidates, so pick one or the other. Some choice.

I don't disagree that Christie had appeal, but certainly not to this conservative. Anyone can get in the race. I have no problem with that until the media does its mischief. Pardon my cynicism, but the media has conditioned me that way.

I don’t like Pat Buchanan, he is allied with the wacko wing of the truthers, liberaltarians and socialists.

The problem is simple.

IF Romney is the candidate....the GOP will lose.

Plain and simple.

JimRob,

Can I just say: YOU TOTALLY ROCK MY WORLD! :-)

Many thanks for using your magic zot powers to make this a Romneybot-free zone! I’m so over Romney being shoved down my throat by the media, trolls and other misguided souls.

How about if Cain or Rubio is on the ticket with Romney?

NO!! We are not falling for the Dole-Kemp, McCain-Palin game where they dangle a fake carrot in front of conservatives. If Romney or another RINO is on the ticket, the answer should be NO WAY.

McCain would not have even been a second place candidate without picking someone as conservative as Sarah Palin as VP. Then he went out and talking up Obama “He’s a good guy” and bashing profits like a leftist.

It’s like the old RINO didn’t want to win.

I don’t think Obama’s defeat is inevitable at this point. It’s a long way to next November, and he is devious, well-funded, and willing to do nearly anything to get what he wants. Right now, it sures looks like an empty suit could beat Obama handily, but we shouldn’t underestimate him.

Also, the main reason why I say it would be a disaster for the party is that the party needs the conservative vote more than the conservatives need the party. No Repub presidential candidate will ever get elected if conservatives stay home in large numbers. So the party needs the conservative vote to win, and if they nominate Romney they are doing the worst possible thing they could do in terms of boosting conservative turnout.

Conservatives, on the other hand, don’t really need the Republican party, since we hardly get anything from them that would be too dear to give up. They haven’t let us have a conservative presidential candidate in 30 years, and even when we work our butts off to get the party majorities, they squander them and spit in our faces. We mainly get lip service from the party, and we can get that from any number of places if we march our votes elsewhere.

I would go so far as to say that when we Conservatives end up voting for a RINO because they have an (R) next to their name, they think we are rewarding them for being so moderate/leftist.

Ultimately a vote for a liberal with an (R) next to their name is still a vote for a liberal, and I think the time has come for us to stop rewarding the GOP for sliding left.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, if Romney or another RINO gets the nod, I'm done with the GOP.

I assume that you are asking why Cain cannot move Romney to the right?

The only real reason is that Romney underestimates Cain and over estimates himself. It’ a matter of Romney’s ego, not the fault of either Cain or Bachman.

I simply sense that Romney seems to fear Gingrich and maybe even Santorum, a bit. With Santorum, I think that Romney fears his core values, backed by intelligence. With Gingrich, I think that Romney purely fears his intellect, which is probably superior to any in this primary race.

I truly believe that conservative Republicans would be worse off with Romney in the White House, than Obama. I’m afraid that Romney would lead the RINO Republicans to vote as liberals and all we would get is Obama-lite.

My point is Romney has no core values. He’ll “move” whichever direction is politically expedient to him at the moment. He’ll screw you in the end every time.

I think he’s right on this one. I certainly wouldn’t vote for Romney, no matter what.

Myself and most of my friends and neighbors agree.
