A 30-year-old California man who wears diapers and lives as an adult baby can keep his $800-a-month Social Security disability checks, the agency ruled.
Stanley Thorntons infantile lifestyle won him national attention after a National Geographic TV show revealed how he was spoon-fed and clad in baby clothes by his roommate and how he built furniture like oversized high chairs in his Redding, Calif., apartment.
The show prompted Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., to demand a probe of Thornton's Supplemental Security Income checks, the New York Post reported.
But in a letter to Thornton, the agency said, We recently reviewed the evidence in your Social Security disability claim and find that your disability is continuing.
A spokesman for Coburn told The Washington Times that the senator did not understand how "a grown man who is able to design and build adult-sized baby furniture is eligible for disability benefits."
"The problem is not with Mr. Thornton, per se, but with the politicians and bureaucrats who have coddled him," the spokesman added. "Disability fraud effectively steals from those who are truly disabled, while weakening the economy for everyone."

Just keep taking it...because you will.
“What makes him so much different than any typical Democrat?” ... Um, they won’t let him ‘occupy’ wearing his democrap diapers?
#occupyadultbaby
I’ll start the bidding at $800.00 for someone to kick his ass....
I see your point.
Thornton was receiving about $860 per month in disability payments, according to The Washington Times. He was living with a woman who acted as his caretaker and was also receiving disability checks until she died earlier this year. Thornton claimed that his disability benefits were based not on his lifestyle as an adult baby, but on a range of conditions -- from post-traumatic stress disorder to ADHD to spinal problems to depression. "All my illnesses have had extensive testing," he wrote on his site.
Anyway we can abort him?
Childhood comforts: Stanley Thornton is bottle-fed by his room-mate Sandra Dias, a former nurse, both of whom claim disability payments
Mr Thornton changes into adult clothes when he goes outside, but as soon as he gets home he goes back into ‘baby mode.’
Some infantilists, known as ‘diaper lovers’, see the condition as a sexual fetish.
But Mr Thornton is keen to stress he and other ‘adult babies’ find comfort, not sexual satisfaction, by being treated as a child. Infantilists have no sexual desire towards children.
He said: ‘Being an adult baby I’ve had a couple of different reactions, some good, some not so good.
‘I’ve had some people that are perfectly fine with it and others that are just angry, maybe think you’re automatically a paedophile because you’re too into it.
‘I like to be treated as a baby, just to get the love and affection, safeness, just to go back to a time when you’re caring for a one or two year old.’
Hopefully, real life will be along shortly and correct the situation.
In the same post on his website, Thornton defends his reasons for being on disability.
I am not getting disability because I am a Adult Baby. No one can get on disability because they are a Adult Baby. I am on disability for legit, tested and well documented illnesses [such as] PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), depression, bipolar 2, spinal injury, heart problems my role playing is a way for me to relax, not a disability that is being claimed for a disability.
Notice something?
It’s “THE AGENCY” that okays this travesty.
See? No one is responsible...just the way the cowardly government wants it.
Kind of hard for the wounded & abused taxpayer to address “THE AGENCY”.
Reminds me of a moron that kept showing up outside the nursing home I worked at. A guy 3-40 years old wearing a diaper and tennis shoes and nothing else. He lived a very comfy lifestyle too boot. He kept wanting to check himself in. He pushed his luck too far one time and multiple agencies including one in another state got involved and exposed his fraud.
Just an FYI - this adult baby built his own crib. He even went to Home Depot and bought all the materials needed to build the crib. He even did his own measurements.
I am sure the news media would call us mean spirited and evil.
Of course... but they would cover it...
You see how that would work? Who cares how they spun the story. The politician who got even a few seconds of facetime as spokesperson for even a handful of protesters (between frowning newsreaders) would see their poll numbers accelerate.
The trick to dealing with media bias is not outrage. Media bias is old news. One deals with it by finding a story the liberal self-styled "neutralist" can't resist covering, The bias is ignored and the viewer's eyes are opened to a greater truth.
This is called feeding off the enemy.
This is called reversing a liberal's natural advantage using a conservative's natural advantage.
This is how Jesse Helms consistently won and won and won again, despite being detested by the Moonbat Press, Bureaucrat and pseudo-intellectual academic axis. He couched a greater truth baited with a liberal flavor. The earned media was breathtaking. The newsreaders still don't get it, and too few Conservative politicians are either aware nor think themselves skillful enough to pull it off.
In truth, however, it's like taking candy away from a baby.
I see stories like this and I think, maybe bringing back the draft isn’t such a bad idea after all.
No doubt his mother is nuts also.
Its just your tax money supporting this clowns sexual fetish says our government and it sees nothing wrong with that...Jeez!...This crap has to end!...You can see why the amount of money you give to the govenment each week out of your check has absolutely no accountability or connection to reality!...This is beyond ridiculous!
I don't think the military would be too keen on the idea.
