Anchorage, Alaska (AP) -- Alaska Native and environmental groups are challenging a federal air permit granted to Royal Dutch Shell PLC for offshore drilling in Arctic waters.

Shell hopes to drill exploratory wells next summer off Alaska's northern coasts.

The Environmental Protection Agency issued an air permit Friday for a Shell drill ship called the Kulluk.

I say those that oppose drilling stop using ANYTHING related to oil or natural gas.

Until then they are the biggest bunch of hypocrites out there.

The appeal is on behalf of 11 environmental or Alaska Native groups.

Just did a little checking on the groups, it seems the usual enviro-nazi groups are included and one Native villiage.

Groups involved in the challenge include the Natural Resources Defense Council, Earthjustice, the Sierra Club, Oceana and the Alaska Wilderness League, as well as the Native Village of Point Hope.

Now why is it that the courts don't rule that these groups don't have standing to file a suit because they can't show that they have been damaged yet?

Isn't that what they ruled for the cases challenging ObamaCare?

How do these people get from one place to another? I do not believe that they walk, ride a horse, bike, snap their fingers or will themselves there.

Oh wait I know they put gas in their mode of transportation and drive there.

If they are so against these projects then get a pair and use one of the modes of transportation listed above.
