EXCLUSIVE: ACORN Playing Behind Scenes Role in 'Occupy' Movement
By Jana Winter

The former New York office for ACORN, the disbanded community activist group, is playing a key role in the self-proclaimed leaderless Occupy Wall Street movement, organizing guerrilla protest events and hiring door-to-door canvassers to collect money under the banner of various causes while spending it on protest-related activities, sources tell FoxNews.com.
The former director of New York ACORN, Jon Kest, and his top aides are now busy working at protest events for New York Communities for Change (NYCC). That organization was created in late 2009 when some ACORN offices disbanded and reorganized under new names after undercover video exposes prompted Congress to cut off federal funds.
NYCCs connection to ACORN isnt a tenuous one: It works from the former ACORN offices in Brooklyn, uses old ACORN office stationery, employs much of the old ACORN staff and, according to several sources, engages in some of the old organizations controversial techniques to raise money, interest and awareness for the protests.
Sources said NYCC has hired about 100 former ACORN-affiliated staff members from other cities paying some of them $100 a day - to attend and support Occupy Wall Street. Dozens of New York homeless people recruited from shelters are also being paid to support the protests, at the rate of $10 an hour, the sources said.

Why not combine the OWS idiots AND the ever growing Obamaville tent city residents? What a crowd THAT would be!
Obama has helped create them BOTH.
Brilliant plan! :)
Our favorite Marxist, moral-less community agitators are at it again. No wonder Obama approves.
They probably provided the witness intimidation staff.
If you have any doubt that Obama is connected to the occupy protests, take a look at this article. He is still the community organizer. Accept the community is Wall Street. And Atlanta and Baltimore and Boston and Los Angeles and San Diego, and so on.
Barack Obama not only participated in #OccupyChicago protests He led them.
Yesterday Joel Pollack at Big Government reported on how Barack Obama led #OccupyChicago style protests in Chicago in 1988.
From Stanley Kurtzs essential Radical-in-Chief: Barack Obama and the Untold Story of American Socialism, pp. 117-8:
PHOTO EVIDENCE Barack Obama LED #OccupyChicago Protests Circa 2000
War is coming, and we’re not the ones bringing it. It’s not going to be pretty, so you’d better prepare now because one minute after is no time to start...
What a POS O is.
“paying some of them $100 a day - to attend and support Occupy Wall Street. Dozens of New York homeless people recruited from shelters are also being paid to support the protests, at the rate of $10 an hour...”
-—> “Captitalism” at work, huh, Acorn?
i didn’t think they were still interested in doing actual news
hmph. another random act of journalism
‘Dozens of New York homeless people recruited from shelters are also being paid to support the protests, at the rate of $10 an hour...’
Finally, Obama’s economic job policies are starting to kick in!
I’m shocked! Really! I just cannot wrap my head around that!
Sure. They’re leaderless. So are the Israeli tent city protests, which aren’t political at all at all at all. It’s all just spontaneous and grassy-rootsy-tootsy, unlike those TEA parties that came before them.
The ACORN and the OWS crowds (pretty much the same people) should be tossed in jail for fraud, theft and just plain stupidity.
Dozens of New York homeless people recruited from shelters are also being paid to support the protests, at the rate of $10 an hour...
Finally, Obamas economic job policies are starting to kick in!
Is this “Trickle Down Your Leg” economics.
And the Starbucks and McDonald's across from Zuccotti Park are doing a booming business.
Great economic strategy, Obie! < /s>
The term “homeless problem” disappeared from the MSM in Jan 09.
That’s when the rise of the oceans began to slow and the earth began to heal......
The Craigslist.org ad was ONLY $8.50 an hour ...
Maybe that didn’t include tips.
I’m sure the happy residents of adjacent housing are more than happy to slip a fiver to them occasionally. /S
ACORN just morphed into AHCOA.
They’re still out there.
Wonder if NYSlimes and NPR will report it...
So , since they are out there , wearing another ‘sheeps’ clothing’ and there is money that has been ordered to be repaid to the government , I am assuming that since the organizational name change (with the same exact structure and officers) , cant they go after themfor the repayment ?
Or would it be Holders job ?
Billionaire business mogul Penny Pritzker is a member of one of Americas richest families and was the Finance Chair for the presidential campaign of Barack Obama. It was Pritzker that led the prolific, and illegal, fundraising that helped power Barack Obamas presidential campaign. She was the chair of Chicago-based Superior Banks board for five years.
Pritzker was into subprime lending before it became all the rage starting in around 2000. Prtizker's chairmanship was to concentrate on sub prime lending, principally on home mortgages, but for a while in subprime auto lending, too, after the Pritzkers' bank acquired its wholesale mortgage organization division, Alliance Funding, in December 1992.
Superior Bank went belly up in 2001 with over $1 billion in insured and uninsured deposits; 1,406 depositors lost much of their life savings. This collapse came amid harsh criticism of how Superiors owners promoted sub-prime home mortgages.
This is getting interesting. One can imagine this taking the form of an “Occupy the Polling Places” movement a year from now, if it becomes apparent that Obama’s fat cat money can’t buy him enough votes.
Obamanomics created these jobs.
Why isn’t it $200/day, $20/hr???
They morphed into a ton of different things. I had thought COIE was one of them, but I can’t find the info right now (perhaps the wrong acronym).
Anyway, there is some really good info here: http://theeprovocateur.blogspot.com/2010/04/issa-report-acorn-rebranding.html
Open the first link in that entry and you’ll see the report: http://republicans.oversight.house.gov/images/stories/Reports/20100401ACORNreport.pdf
There are tables that show what each acorn chapter that re-branded has morphed into by state.
Here it is: ACORN is now COI...
“Why isnt it $200/day, $20/hr???
Exactly. They are demanding everyone get a $20 an hour living wage but are demanding only $10 from Soros.
The cooks are ready to go on strike against the occupy organizers. This is just TOO perfect.
Well of course...these are our fearless community organizer Bo's 'pets'...they go where he sends them to do his grunt work...and wait for the pat on the head when they're doing doing their dastardly deeds.
... security at the park had deteriorated to the point where many 'frightened female protesters' had abandoned the increasingly out-of-control occupation....Rumors swirled that one homeless man had pulled a knife in a dispute the night before -- and that there had been yet another case of groping. But protesters and a cop on duty told The Post that most of the crime goes unreported, because of ....."a bizarre stop snitching rule. Whats happening in there is staying in there, said the cop.
according to all the evidence the president of the United States and his executive branch are :
conspiring and instigating civil disobedience through the "Occupy" attempted coup on Capitalism,
executing foreign wars and assasinations without congressional approval, resulting in the franchised radical Islam takover of the middle east,
is arming foreign enemies with weapons used against US law enforcement and citizens; to wit, the recent "Fast and Furious" atrocity
and all we have to defend us against this attack by Obama is a weak bloated puffy pompous socialist Republican party
I have a feeeling this won't end well
