'Occupy' demonstrators battle wind and cold as storm moves in

New York (CNN) -- Demonstrators encamped in a Lower Manhattan park faced New York's first snow storm of the season Saturday without the benefit of propane tanks and generators that they had been using to cook food and keep warm.

"It's pretty dirty, and we're all freezing cold," said Alec Courtney, who says he runs a shoe-shine stand at the city's Zuccotti Park to make money. "We just try to huddle together."

Courtney, a resident of the New York City borough of Brooklyn, says he's been camping at the park for the last 20 days and plans to stay there -- despite the inclement weather -- to support "the cause."

battle? LOL

i read some of them suggesting this will be their ‘valley forge’ moment

(just like they wanted a ‘kent state’ moment 10 days ago... and received in oakland)

anyone else notice all the ‘moment’ talk? how do people not see that it’s all manufactured

Nice cool day today in San Antonio. Got a bottle of Cabernet and a bottle of Malbec, that I paid for.

Amazing what you can do when you work 50-60 hours a week.

The IR cameras will show ALL the tents are empty tonight, but it would be bigoted to make an issue of it.

We have to pretend that the Fleabaggers deserve respect.

When we, as a civilization, reach the level of enlightenment high enough to apply the lesson of your irony, we will give these “protesters” the gift of self-reliance—and they’ll get jobs so that they can feed, clothe, bathe, and shelter themselves.
