Po old Rick Perry, Tenant farmer and 3 time Gov of Texas sure is an easy target.

He never had to live the American Dream, all he had to do was give himself a free education and cakewalk into the Govs mansion.

Yessiree bob! Well, he painted that rock over just to be PC.

He never did nothin of worth! Hardly ever!

Dialing back one’s frenetic schedule does not equal hiding.

Of course not.

I didn’t say that. I have no personal hard opinion against him and look up to him as the Governor of the great state of Texas. He has done great measures to get there.

This is taking a step up that he wasn’t prepared for. That’s all.

If you were working 80 hours a week and you “dial back” to working 60 hours a week, is that “hiding”?

If I'm running for president and I avoid the public for fear that I might say something foolish then yes, it is.

Maybe Mr Cain has taken a step he isn’t prepared for.

Just what is his RECORD? Electric fences in the middle of the river that will kill?

That’s good red meat, but it is complete BS.

999 That’s a catchy slogan, but it’s complete BS

Palestinian return?:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the return of Palestinian refugees to Israel is “not going to happen. Everybody knows it’s not going to happen.”

When asked about his stance on the matter, Cain appeared confused.

CAIN: Right of return? Right of return?

WALLACE: The Palestinian right of return.

CAIN: That’s something that should be negotiated.

When asked again about whether he believes in the Palestinian right of return, Cain seemed unclear about the Israeli position on the matter, as well as his own.

CAIN: Yes, but under – but not under – Palestinian conditions. Yes. They should have a right to come back if that is a decision that Israel wants to make…. I don’t think they have a big problem with people returning.

On the record, I like Mr Cain too.

This is a tough business.

It is tough. I think Gov. Perry was pushed into it.

That is the meme being spread about.

The meme that Anita wears the pants.

Like the meme about open borders.

And they’re leftist, taunting memes.

People have been voting for Perry with their feet for 10 years: moving their businesses and families here, I reckon they’ll vote for him for POTUS in time, as well.

Governor Perry has created a business friendly atmosphere in Texas that is attracting companies.

Texas had a business-friendly environment before Perry took office. Perry saddled the state with a business income tax. Yes, it's called a franchise tax, but that's just semantics. Note also that he's also presided over a major oil and gas boom, which probably accounts for a good deal of the growth. Russia, for example, had its GDP go from $300B in 2001 to about $1.5T in 2010 on the strength of that boom, even as its population has shrunk by 2%. In comparison, the Texas GSP merely went from $0.7T to $1.3T as its population went up 20% from 21m to 25m.

Don't get me wrong - I like Perry (and don't have any qualms about voting for any of the GOP candidates, given that they'd be running against Obama), but the guy, like every other politician, is putting his best foot forward in ways that are highly misleading. Not that there's anything wrong with that - this is *politics*, after all.

I like the way you think—maybe you could get a job in his campaign team.

Cain had almost no name recognition when he entered the race. Of course, he had to run like crazy, do every interview he was offered, make every speech he was asked to make and so on.

If Fred Thompson had put in the kind of effort in 2008 that Cain is putting in today, I don't think Obama would be in office today.

Good point.

I think Cain has worked his butt off. Look at the number of speeches and interviews that are out there, and still going strong on viewership on the internet.

Cain is “avoiding the public”?

Where did you get that?

Oh, never mind.

Well, I wasn’t literally talking about how many hours a candidate put it.

I was really commenting on the fact that a bunch of people called any degree of rebalancing of a Cain’s schedule him “going into hiding.”

Yes, it’s a hard job to run for prez.

Christine O’Donnell on national level can happen with Herman Cain. Do not underestimate the power of the red meat crowds to get someone nominated as the Republican presidential nominee but only to lose very badly in the general elections. They need no ads to motivate them to vote, no get out the vote campaign to take them to the polls, they do not need their chosen candidate to campaign, they would crawl on broken glass to vote for whoever they want and in this case Herman Cain. They just want to stick it to the establishment whatever they define establishment as. The question is are they a majority among Republican primaries voters or not. We shall see in the coming months but one thing for sure do not underestimate them for a second.

Where did you get that?

From the article. Didn't you read it? It said he has decided to cut back on campaign events and media contacts, apparently in order to avoid further opportunities for his mouth to run away from him.

I was with you on Cain’s weaknesses as a candidate until I checked your postings and saw that your answer is Perry. IMO Gov. Perry would be a bigger disaster for the GOP than Mr. Cain.

Cain doesn’t carry Perry’s illegal immigration, corruption, big-government mandating, frankly unintelligent-sounding and Texas-macho, off-putting baggage.
