Michele Bachmann: I would ‘not do anything’ for children of illegal immigrants

Michele Bachmann is coming under the microscope after insisting she would not help the children of illegal immigrants living in the United States.

The Republican presidential hopeful made the eyebrow-raising remarks at a campaign stop in Oskaloosa, Iowa on Saturday after a Latino college student asked what Bachmann would do to the children of undocumented immigrants.

She said she would “not do anything,” for the children, adding"Their parents are the ones who brought them here," Bachmann said, as first reported by MSNBC. "They did not have the legal right to come to the United States. We do not owe people who broke our laws to come into the country. We don't owe them anything."

Bachmann has previously taken the hardline stance that she's against the federal government giving U.S. citizenship to the children of those parents who came to the country illegally, which is the case today.

She then brought up her own family's history during the question and answer session.

"I dare say that probably every single person in this room descends from immigrants. I did-my immigrant family came here in the 1850s and they came into the United States legally. They received zero benefits."

Immigration came up at another stop in Ottumwa, Ia, where Bachmann suggested there should be a law barring citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants, according to the Des Moines Register.

"We've got to end this anchor-baby program," she said.

She’s dead meat, but is speaking the truth. My sister used to be a classroom teacher, and when non-English speaking kids were plopped in her classroom, illegal immigrants, she did nothing for them. She certainly didn’t try to learn Spanish or print out Spanish worksheets for them.

“The Republican presidential hopeful made the eyebrow-raising remarks”

What’s eyebrow raising about it? It makes perfect sense. It’s only eyebrow raising in a good way that someone is saying it!

"Their parents are the ones who brought them here,"

Yup, the parents should be responsible for them.

A successful conservative will know when they’ve been set up and embarrass the questioner for the mindlessness of the question.

"We've got to end this anchor-baby program," she said.

It served its purpose in the 1800's - it's time to repeal it.

This is the hard but right answer.

What should we do for the children of illegal immigrants? The right answer is "nothing." They need to go home. Their parents need to go home, and the kids need to go too. They may be perfectly nice people, in fact the chances are that they are perfectly nice people. Its not the point. The point is, they are here illegally. The solution is for them to go back home.

What about children who are citizens by birth, whose parents are deported? Nothing. They belong to their parents before they belong to any country. If the parents go home, there is no question that they would take their kids with them. I can't imagine what parent would leave young children behind for whatever reason. When they are adults, as citizens, they have the right to come back. But this is not a problem that government has to solve.

There may be exceptions that justify a parent leaving the child with close friends or relatives, but again, thats the parents' decision. Government has no place in it. No new law is required.

I don’t have a problem with people helping illegal aliens using their own time and personal funds.

I do have a problem with liberal do-gooders, globalist hacks, and unscrupulous businesses who want to help illegal aliens using my tax dollars. Inevitably, the only people being “helped” are the liberal do-gooders, globalist hacks, and unscrupulous businesses - and by being “helped” I mean that they are helping themselves to my tax dollars.

Good for her! What is really needed is a one way escorted trip to their home country for every ILLEGALS caught. Any country not accepting our rejects should lose all foreign aid.

Perhaps we should all be illegal-friendly like Texas. Your state was 70% Anglo as late as 1980. In 2020 Hispanics will outnumber Anglos. Projections are that by 2040 Texas will be 70% Hispanic.

http://dallasfed.org/research/pubs/fotexas/fotexas_petersen.html

Texas is on the highway to hell. Texans are either too arrogant or stupid to realize it. in 15 years Texans will be moving to Ohio and Michigan in search of a better life.

Sometimes you play your best when you’ve got nothing left to lose.

Keep telling the truth, Michele!
