One would think that people from Texas would take responsibility for their own actions of getting too close to things going fast, not even supported by the ground against the evil force of gravity.

I guess you sue if anything bad happens to you, no matter what. A 95 year old rifle fired, without touching the trigger, when I knocked the bolt forward.(worn sear) Bruised my hand. I will sue the Austro-Hungarian Empire!/s

when people attend an event like this they have a reasonable expectation of not being killed

“when people attend an event like this they have a reasonable expectation of not being killed”

Reasonable expectation means what? If you choose to sit on the airfield during an air race then ‘reasonable’ doesn’t mean a whole lot.

Yeah, that’s the answer. Sue the elderly pilot’s family. Right. That will go miles and miles toward returning your dead loved one to you. /s

I’m so sick of “the world owes me” mentality.

The family needs to be sued in return for being so stupid to go somewhere they might get killed or maimed.

Yeah. John F. Kennedy would have agreed.

...and, as most realize, a nonzero chance of being killed.

The planes that fly at Reno are a restricted category aren’t they? So can the mechanic be held liable?

I built a firearm test fixture so I can be a bit aways for the first few firings of used firesticks. (Not that I’d buy any, but just in case.)

Same with a car. Yet, very few people died in the Reno air crash, and yet approximately 115 people die in CAR ACCIDENTS EVERY DAY (or about one every 13 minutes).

Children should not be raped in this country, yet 5 or 6 children die in this country from CHILD ABUSE, and "Approximately 683,000 forcible rapes (children and women) occur every year".

Well, we all knew it was coming. Nothing that wasn't expected giving the environment we are now living in. If this persists there won't be air shows, car races, even things like downhill skiing might ultimately be banned. Go out into a national park and you could be killed by a bear or mountain lion. So do you get to sue the National Park Service (US taxpayer)?

Where does this all end?

Trial Lawyers and their Clients; Destroying America one lawsuit at a time. If I offended any trial lawyers- then sue me.

Pearl Harbor.... isn't that were we sunk all our battleships to keep from tipping the island over?
