Democratic Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani says she is gay (figured 'it' out after 42 years)

Democratic Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani has publicly come out as a lesbian.

In an interview, the 47-year-old Livingtson Democrat told the Stockton Record that it was not until after her 2006 election to the Assembly that she knew she was gay.

Galgiani told the newspaper that she hoped talking about her life would provide support for youth dealing with issues related to their own sexual identity.

“Actually, if I had to guess, I’d say she is the type to call herself “gay” for the attention and to feel like one of the “cool” people, but if she were to encounter a halfways attractive man who was interested in her, she would be right back on that horse, so to speak.”

Bingo. Suddenly figuring out you are gay at age 47 does not compute.
