Pizza magnate Herman Cain leads the latest Public Policy Polling polls in Maine and North Carolina. In North Carolina, Cain pulled in 30 percent of the votes. In Maine, Cain garnered 29 percent of the votes. Cains poll performances may be impacted by a POLITICO report that revealed that the former Godfathers Pizza CEO faced sexual harassment allegations in the 1990s.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich took second place in the latest North Carolina PPP poll with 22 percent of the votes. In Maine, Gingrich finished in third place with 18 percent of the votes. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney garnered 19 percent of the votes in the North Carolina PPP poll for a third place finish. Romney pulled in 24 percent of the votes in the Maine PPP poll for a second place finish.
According to Public Policy Pollings press release on the latest North Carolina and Maine polls, Gingrich stands to benefit from Cains sexual harassment allegations debacle. If Cain fades, whether through the sexual harassment allegations or his other missteps or his lack of organization in the early states, Gingrich, who has already been surging, could be the beneficiary, the press release reads.
The latest Maine PPP poll of 250 likely GOP primary voters was conducted from October 28 to 31 and the latest North Carolina PPP poll of 474 likely Republican primary voters was conducted October 27 to 31. The margin of error for the Maine PPP poll is plus or minus 6.2 percentage points. The margin of error for the North Carolina PPP poll is plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.

In 2008, when they attacked Sarah Palin viciously, it galvanized her base/core support. However, this being a PRIMARY ELECTION where by and large GOP moderates will skip going out in the cold and the true believers will show up in droves, if this keeps up and the arrows continue to bounce off, we could be in for one heck of an interesting primary campaign in these 60 days leading up to Iowa.
Late night/early morning PING!
Well, we might say Gingrich supporters might like this article a little bit, but I still think it is a bit of a stretch for him to capitalize on the Establishment’s nasty hijinks of late.

Bring it on home, Mr. Cain. 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is good address once it’s been fumigated.
While claiming that his client wanted to go public, the agreement she signed prevented it but that the lawyer believed his client was telling the truth.
He also said that during the time that the agreement was being negotiated, he never met nor talked with Herman Cain, so as her lawyer, he never deposed Herman.
How serious can a legal charge be, if the opposing lawyer doesn't even bother with deposition.
The woman never had any intention of going to trial.
The woman made a written claim and her lawyer axed for a dollar amount to make it go away.
The NRA lawyer negotiated the amount, the woman signed, she and her lawyer took the money and ran.
She will now get paid by The Globe or the Enquirer and will then come forward and get her and her lawyer plastered all over TV until the msm wrings every last ounce of scandal out of this non-event.
Our border agents get killed by guns that holder and big sis's agents run into Mexico, and the msm yawns, and heaps more gas on the Herman Cain bonfire so that everyone gets to see the black man when they finally put the rope around his neck for "messin' with ar wimmen".
There are times when I see this crap, that I just want to load up my van, drive to an area that has a target rich environment and leave it all on the field; I won't do it unless physically threatened, but sometimes the devil twists my soul.
Mr. Cain has survived Romney-DIRT and a paid Romney-poll
(the best money can buy, Mitt?).
True. This is spin city. Newt will be Herman’s veep, and he is the final fall-back for the Romneyites.
She got a whopping . . . $35,000, or one year’s pay to go away. That wouldn’t even cover the lawyer’s fees.
One years pay? $35 K ? In 1999 she was a professional and was paid less than $3,000 a month?
What did she do?
In 1999 our receptionist/secretary/executive assistant was making $ 65 K with all the benefits and was worth every dime.
She came with me to three different companies {over 15 years}, and got a raise every time I/she moved.
She wasn't working in NY or Washington, she was in Pittsburgh where the cost of living was/is way less than in the major cities.
When IBM later bought the company, she went with big blue, got another raise and eventually retired as an IBMer.
Can't imagine what a Washington DC professional would do in 1999 for $ 35,000 per year.
The “sexual harassment” lies seem to be counterproductive. Keep it up, Lefties!!!
Maine is a caucus state and it occurs after FLA and before the Super Tuesdays ... Romney had an impressive operation there in ‘08, so Cain needs to get to work on Maine if he hopes to do well. The state will not organize itself. Low turnout caucuses.
The appropriate response should have been no comment in order to honor the agreement.
And it doesn't matter if Obama or Romney are president; the Federal Reserve will still destroy our currency, federal and state spending will still skyrocket, and the Free Stuff Army will still bankrupt the country.
We must seek a solution beyond politics.
The settlement was a pittance: $35,000, of which the lawyer took about 1/3 (standard fee). So she ended up with about $23,000.
I hope it was worth all the grief that is about to come down upon her silly head.
Cleaning lady?
Still trying to clean up?

As much as I’d like to believe this is good news for Cain, this poll was taken before the bulk of the scandal came out. I don’t know about SC, but Maine was in the midst of a severe snowstorm leaving many without power and without cable/satellite tv well into Halloween. The results of the poll may not necessarily reflect the impact of the “scandal.” I’m going to say, as a Cain supporter, the allegations don’t concern me, the way Cain’s camp has handled it does bother me. I am hopeful Cain will turn that around.
