OKLAHOMA CITY Its already been a rough week for the two main Occupy groups in Oklahoma, with a death at Occupy OKC and a heavy-handed response to Occupy Tulsa by the Tulsa Police Department early this morning.
First, at Occupy OKC in Kerr Park on Oct. 31, police responded to the discovery of a body in a tent at the encampment.
Identified only by his street name Street Poet, the young man had delivered a poem the day before his death, and how the system had failed him, according to The Oklahoman. Our sources informed us that Street Poet had died of a drug overdose and that he had been struggling with addiction issues. That story can be found here.
The identity of the young man is still unknown at this time.
And the latest report from Beth Isbell, at Occupy OKC, is that the Occupy Tulsa encampment in Tulsas Centennial Park, was raided by Tulsa Police Department at 2:30 a.m.
According to Isbell, the Tulsa police warned the protesters that they were violating a curfew ordinance at the park which calls for the park to be empty between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. The Occupy Tulsa group responded with chants about their rights of free speech and assembly.

I thought the freeloaders do everything without cops.
That unfortunate young man’s first problem was accepting the idea that “the system failed him”; that there is a “system” that exists in order to serve him and fill his needs. He should have learned that he is a unique, independent person that has been endowed by his creator with some rights but NO GUARANTEES. Life is NOT fair. To be happy in this world you have to take responsibility for yourself, work hard, pray harder and don’t give up. The happiness that results does not come from material wealth or success, but if you do those things chances are you will have some wealth and success as well.
Claim not that the system has failed you,
but instead accept responsibility for your own failures...
Apparently, they're lacking in mortician skills
It's all fun and games till you find a corpse in your tent.
It usually is...for criminals.
Occupy camps have had deaths, rapes, assaults, theft, etc. Can you just imagine what the Democrats and their lackeys in the media would be doing right now had just ONE of these things occured anywhere within a 50 mile radius of a Tea Party gathering?
I highly doubt the police made ANY agreement w/ the occupiers.
Let's pretend for a moment it was true....."During the arrests, Tulsa police pepper sprayed many of the protestors, most of whom were peacefully sitting on the ground not resisting arrest procedures."
Sitting on the ground IS resisting arrest; therefore, you broke YOUR "agreement" with the police and got peppered. Boo freakin hoo.
Well said!
