Mark Block, GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain's chief of staff, revealed to The Daily Caller a secret agreement that he has with Cain. Assuming Cain wins the presidential election, Block will kick a certain habit that he famously engaged in for a campaign ad.

It's not such a secret if he's telling people. :-)

Anyway, I hope he is able to kick the habit, though if his pledge is based on Cain winning, then I feel he won't be successful, because if he really wants to quit, he would do it immediately and not base it on an outcome next November. If you don't have the desire to quit, you are unlikely to quit.

I used to smoke pipes and the occasional cigar, NEVER cigarettes.

Haven't smoked in at LEAST 5 years and even then it wasn't very often, maybe a few times a year while walking or spilting firewood in the fall.

Now I'm thinking of getting a pack of Marlboros.

Mrs p6 is already having fits, LOL!

Now we know why he was smoking in the ad. It was part of an upcoming facet of the campaign strategy.

I used to sell Kirby vacuum cleaners for two weeks when I was 19. One of our interesting and surprisingly effective sales ploys was to do the following if you had clients that seemed to be thinking of buying:

Explain to them that you are one of several salesmen showing their product and there is a contest. If you are the first to sell that day you win. Then you ask them if you can use thier phone to see if any of the othe salesmen have called in with a sale yet. They say “yes” (side note: you’ve gotten them to say yes to something). You then call the receptionist and ask if you are the first. She says yes (she always says yes).

You then put your hand over the phone mouthpiece and look at the customers and say, “I’m the first! Whaddaya say?”

People love to help another person. Their natural instinct, if they like you, is to go for it.

Likewise here, “If I vote for that nice man, Cain, AND his friend will stop smoking, I’m gonna do it. It also sends a good message about smoking.”

I’d bet money that is why he smoked in that ad.

The money and support is pouring in for Herman Cain, but we cannot slow down now. Please help him by donating at http://www.hermancain.com/

Also to help join the buzz about Herman go to facebook.com and “like” him. In just the last week he has jumped 13% or 42000 with an impressive 10,000 in the last 24 hours. Make no mistake Karl Rove is watching Herman’s “likes” and so is Romney who gained just 1500 since last Tuesday. THIS is the way to stick it to the GOP establishment! Please tell your family and friends to “like” Herman as well.
