Cain Says Perry Camp Behind Sex Harassment Leak
forbes ^

Posted on 11/02/2011 1:12:28 PM PDT by Perdogg

Was the recent attack on Herman Cain’s presidential campaign a professional hit job? Absolutely, says Herman Cain. And he says he knows just where to look for the guy who did it: At 815 Slaters Lane in Alexandria, Virginia, a low-slung former warehouse in the shadow of a coal plant.

I think this smear has DemocRAT hands on it. This looks, smells and acts like all the other smears handled by the libs

Please read the numerous...well written...posts that offer the counter-suggestion. It makes absolutely no sense. It would be a waste of a scandle to do it now. They would pop it in September/October of '12 if Cain was the nominee....or the Friday before...just like the did Bush with the DWI...NOT during the primary when it is "old news" in a year.

Yes...the dims are scumbags...but they are smart politicians and it benefits them very little to play this card NOW....and that is what you have to ask yourself: 1) Why NOW? and 2) Who benefits because ITS NOW?"

I think the answer to those questions are pretty obvious and the road (which is named "Rove") leads to 1 of 2 people...

Cain’s camp points to the timing of Anderson’s hiring by Perry as evidence of his involvement. The campaign announced Anderson’s hiring on October 24, just a week before the story.

Again, the Perry campaign announced the hiring of Curt Anderson on October 24. Politico contacted the Cain campaign on October 19, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn Politico had been working on the story before October 19. Cain had better have more evidence than timing to back up his claim that this came from the Perry campaign.

Heck, I can’t remember all the guys I’ve worked with that I’ve ‘sexually harrassed’ by touching, hugging, calling honey/sweetie/sugar or told a joke to.

But then, I’m a female and Southern, so we generally get away with it.

Maybe this was what Perry was so happy about in his New Hampshire speech...

I thought the same exact thing earlier this morning; he was way too giddy about something.

Perry or not, this came from one of the Republican camps. The Democrats would have held onto it for the general election, if Cain got the nomination.

Someone called alice wonders (or something) also said that “more was coming.” She’s a Perry supporter.

I guess all is fair in love and politics but not for me. I am not naive enough to think that it isn’t about perception a lot of the time but to bring forth such trash is beyond the scope for me. (between you and me... a neighbor once said that my son was very articulate and knew so much about American History. She said, “Maybe one day, he’ll run for President” Before I could catch myself, I said, “I’d rather him be a piano player in a wh*re house”. My point wasn’t to discredit the job and the responsibility. I just wouldn’t want anyone close to me to go through such scrutiny, hated and mean spiritedness. (hope I didn’t offend you)

From the article: “When Politico’s Martin contacted Cain campaign spokesman J.D. Gordon on late in the day on October 19, ... “ and “The [Perry] campaign announced Anderson’s role on October 24, ... “

Looks like Politico may have already had the information.

Agree. I just don't understand how Cain could have been so dumb as to believe this wouldn't come out.

Reminds me of Bush's drunk driving arrest.

There are a lot of opinions on this thread but so far I haven't seen a response to this.

This is really disappointing. Up until now, I’ve been willing to look the other way, chalking it up to a disgruntled employee or a flat-out gold digger. We’ve all known opportunists. But the fact that just the other day, Cain stated he wasn’t aware of or had forgotten about this and now it’s revealed that he gave this firm a heads up about the charges during his prior run really chaps my arse. I thought more of him than this.

If Perry is responsible for this, and somehow he can corral all the RINOs in the party to vote for him because all the conservatives will be too disgusted to vote, and it allows him to win the nomination — his victory will still be pyrrhic.

Obama will crush him as the n*ggerhead rock loving racist who ruined the candidacy of the only serious black candidate for president ever to come up in the republican party.

Then Obama and the democrats will destroy the GOP for accepting Perry, who they will label as a racist, as their presidential candidate.

Who ever thought up this not so great idea, whether Perry supporter or Romney-ite, has no idea what a huge can of worms they have opened. They should have by passed this one and left it up to the dems to try to use it.

This is a textbook example of self immolation while trying to give someone a hot foot.

That's a good point. I guess Cain was lying...was that yesterday? Looks like Cain is on the outs.

I agree that everything should be vetted out now before the general election.

That being said if this did come from the Perry camp he might as well head back to Texas. Whatever slim chance he had left is gone.

I know Perry or his campaign was NOT behind this. But what does it matter really. The allegations isn't the problem...it's the coverup that is now the issue.

Actually, this is only the first volley...stay tuned more to come...
