Posted on 11/02/2011 1:12:28 PM PDT by Perdogg

Was the recent attack on Herman Cain’s presidential campaign a professional hit job? Absolutely, says Herman Cain. And he says he knows just where to look for the guy who did it: At 815 Slaters Lane in Alexandria, Virginia, a low-slung former warehouse in the shadow of a coal plant.

Also, when the story first broke, Politico said:

“The first woman was identified to POLITICO by a former association board member”

I don’t think Cain has the experience to be President.

Yeah, those professional politicians have been doing such a bang-up job since 1989.../sarc

I agree that the candidate must be vetted. I am all for it. A smear campaign is not "vetting" IMHO.

So far all of this is annonymous. Nothing credible.

Cain has admitted there were allegations and indcated that his legal and personnel departments investigated it and found nothing credible.

I believe Cain and the people who have stood up for him from that time period and indicated that this is totally out of character and not believable.

We shall see...there is no doubt that the people who are behind bringing this out will pull out all the stops. So far I am not buying it at all.

No, the inexperienced Obama is the one I was thinking of as a horrible example. Newt is the only one who really is prepared to do the job.

I’m with you. I don’t have a candidate yet, and Cain’s handling of this is alarming me. He seems way too hands off things, which won’t work as President. And to throw out an accusation like that, well he had better have all his ducks in a row.

If Cain’s wrong with his accusation, I’m done with him.

So Cain has no serious evidence but accuses Perry and ignores Romney’s link and romney’s history of doing things like this. Once again protecting Mitt. Meanwhile he claims everyone bringing this up is racist but won’t take questions until they can offer something substantial.

Never thought there was someone sleazier then Romney running but Cain has moved up there.

How about this. How about when given TEN days of warning the man line up a solid defense rather then worrying about a rival benefiting if the story hurts him? Because that is all this is about. Cain isn’t addressing the allegations he just wants to smear Perry AGAIN the way he did the rock story just so no conservative is tempted to go back to Perry over this. Cain could have prevented that possibility by actually refuting the allegations with that advance notice! Then he wouldn;t have to smear a rival.

I pretty much figure Cain has no class, no character, and count yourself one lost vote if anyone thinks I’ll vote for this man in November.

Dude, you are nuts. Why not wait for the FACTS to come out. Remember Cain ran his yap playing the race card against Perry first.

Face it, he’s out of his league here and is not fit for the office of the POTUS.

Cain knew this was in his background. He should have been prepared to handle it when it came to light. If it had not come out now it would have been used in the general by the 0bama campaign. In fact he had 10 days to figure out an explanation yet he’s failed miserably to put this to rest. It’s a test and he’s failed it. That isn’t Perry’s, Romney’s or others fault.

Cain needs to hold himself accountable for his actions. He is an ordained minister for heaven’s sake. He has a higher moral obligation than the others in the bigger picture.

As I said, I am a southern man and somewhat long in the tooth.
I am aware of the subtleties of southern politics and the different flavors of liberalism.
I am aware of Gov. Perry’s recent record of conservatism (classical liberalism) in the area of low taxes and job growth in Texas.
I am also smart enough to know a progressive liberal when I hear one speak.
And please, don’t protect me anymore - have a nice day.

Have you ever seen “The Grapes of Wrath”? Are you just that ignorant of the history of American politics. These people are the original liberals. They all wanted a handout from the Roooosevelt democrats. Of course Perry’s liberal, he comes from a long tradition of it.

Anderson founded OnMessage Inc. in 2002. Who cares when he actually joined the Perry campaign?

He is Texas based and a Perry supporter who was hired shortly after Politico contacted Cain.

Besides, on Oct 24th, 2011 Perry announced the hiring of 8 major players. Do you really think formal offers of employment were all made on that day?

Most likely the hires were in the works for weeks and involved complex negotiations.

It came from his Arizona State Coordinator on the 27th. It may not mean a thing.

Oh, hell no. Perry was raised conservative. I only know of one current candidate who voted for Clinton in 92 and it wasn’t Perry.

Cain's business and Fed experience make him far and away more qualified than most candidates have been in the past 25 years.

Show me one foreign policy person who has been elected president since 1980.

You know what I care about? Facts. Let Cain produce facts for a nice change of pace rather then smearing Perry with dirt repeatedly just because he wants those voters on his side.

Actually, aside from all this, I don’t think Cain has the experience to be President.

As another poster has said...and I will elaborate: Yeah...those "PROFESSIONALS" with "EXPERIENCE" we've been hiring in 1960, 1964, 1968, 1972, 1976, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and in EVERy congressional election have done such a FANTASTIC JOB!!!!!!!

Yes...YOU ARE SOOOOOO RIGHT!! Give me some MORE of THAT!

Are you kidding me? Every ONE of them has been corrupted by the political process. Every one. And you want more of that?

I am not offended, I understand what you meant by saying that to your neighbor.

As for me, long before I walked the straight and narrow, I was living in the very belly of the beast. I have seen things, and done things I will forever be ashamed of.

That being said, we all have things we have done that could be twisted and made to look worse then they are. If anyone really thinks they are as pure as the wind driven snow, just run for office and they will soon learn how sordid others can make their past look to strangers.

Sadly, I must admit that it would not take slander to make my past look bad to others.

I thank God that He is who He is, and that He gave His own so that I can be redeemed. By His Amazing Grace, I am forgiven, and for that I am forever grateful.
