You’re right, he COULD have handled it better, and I do think somewhere along the line his staff is not up to par. On the other hand, I don’t really know how you extricate yourself from this political stinkieness. It appears to me that ANYTHING he did would have had repercussions. Some may have been less damaging than others (I think the drip drip drip is worse, but I’m guessing, I’m not a pro).
In the end the only way to really know is after the fact. But a novice is bound to make mistakes in this sort of political minefield. We either want slickly packaged well oiled machines, or we don’t. I don’t, and I”m willing to suffer thru the mistakes. And they will come when they have the force of virtually the entire mainstream media and the democratic nastiness machine against them.
That’s all I’m saying.
You make some good points. I guess my big gripe is the extremely lame attempt to drag the Perry campaign into the whole controversy, as if it were germane to anything, which it’s not, even if it was the “whistle blower”, which it now appears not to have been.
But it’s irrelevant. The Obama Thugs and their Media Thugs would have uncovered all this in any event... it really is back there, as a set of bogus allegations.
I just think it was extremely unpresidential for Cain to try to somehow pin this on Perry.
But you’re right. I’ll take him as he is, warts and all.
It’s worries that I feel and worries that I’m expressing, that’s all.
