The U.S. Air Force Academy has pulled out of a Christian-sponsored children’s toy drive after commanders were accused of religious intolerance.
Mikey Weinstein, an academy graduate who runs the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, said the academy’s participation in Operation Christmas Child is inappropriate because of its evangelical Christian roots.
Operation Christmas Child is sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse, headed by Franklin Graham — the son of evangelist Billy Graham. It packs toys and other items into shoe boxes and sends them to needy children around the world, along with a Christian message in each gift.
“This is arrogance beyond measure,” Weinstein told the Colorado Springs Gazette.

are perforce to be branded “evangelical”, and you
know what that means. Franklin Graham, that dreadful
person, just has to be shut down because they want you
to believe
that implicit in his every act of goodness and charity
is a strident and arrogant proselytizing and ‘evangelizing’.
I think it goes without saying that similar acts of giving
(which you are never likely to see) coming from an Islamic
organization would be viewed as a welcome gesture of conciliation by a “minority religion”, just “trying to catch up” or restore some balance to the hegemony of overbearing Christianity.
Is this the same Air Farce Academy which about a year ago converted it’s Chapel into a Mosque (or so we were told)?

Somehow I think that celebrations of Ramidan are considered quite “tolerant” and acceptable, and Officers are probably given leave to go on Haj whenever they feel so inclined.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they get to take the Cadets with them to run around the Kabala yelling the official new USAF cheer of “Allahu Achbar!”.

With all due respect to its combat veterans and the many current outstanding officers and enlisted personnel, it appears the Air Force could use a role model.

He is a nasty little skid mark on the Academy and those legions who graduated that actually have character and honor. He doesn't. Unfortunately, he has made a career of destroying that fine institution and bullying the politically correct into submission.
He should have been thrown out on his ass the very first day he arrived there. That was a sad, sad day for the Academy (and America) when he wasn't and he eventually graduated. It's like discovering you have Karl Marx in your Squadron and he's working for the enemy.
