TAIPEI The crew of a Taiwanese fishing vessel fought against armed Somali pirates to retake their ship after it was hijacked off East Africa, Taiwan authorities said Sunday.
The 290-tonne Chin Yi Wen with a crew of 28, including nine Chinese, eight Filipinos, six Indonesians and five Vietnamese, had been out of contact since Friday, the foreign ministry said.
But the crew managed to overwhelm the six armed pirates and retake control of their ship.
...
The Somali pirates fell into the sea, Tsay said, quoting the fishing boat owner, adding that details of the saga and the fate of the six pirates were not immediately clear.

If the sharks don’t want them the crabs will get them. These things work out.

In active waters, not much actually arrives at the bottom for the crabs, but it’s the thought that counts!

I'm sure the crew will get a stern talking to from the Taiwanese version of OSHA when they get back in port. Yes sir! Wet, greasy, grimey, fish guts on the decks are VERY dangerous! Must do a better job of hosing down.

The UN human rights investigators are welcome to ride our ship at any time and interview who they want. Please note that decks are slippery at sea and the ocean is quite large. Come on aboard, UN!

How thoughtful of the Taiwanese people to care for our ocean friends in such a magnanimous way.

I DO think of it that way...and hope they keep giving until they have no more to give.
