New Cain accuser to hold press conference? Of with Gloria Allred)
Hot Air ^ | 110711 | Ed Morrissey

A couple of caveats are in order when reading this breaking story about a woman coming forward in a press conference to accuse Herman Cain of sexual harassment. First, it’s Radar that is reporting the news, and their track record for accuracy on political stories is … less than spectacular, although not entirely bad. The second caveat? Her representation:

A new woman alleging sexual harassment by presidential hopeful Herman Cain will break her silence at a news conference with her powerhouse attorney Gloria Allred Monday afternoon in New York City, RadarOnline.comis exclusively reporting. …

The woman, who will be the first to go public on Monday, sought Cain’s help with an employment issue and was allegedly sexually harassed by him. Allred and her client will discuss, in detail, what she alleges occurred with Cain.

For those who can’t recall the last time Allred represented someone with a credible claim, you’ll have to look farther back than her attempt to kneecap Meg Whitman in the California gubernatorial election. Greta van Susteren destroyed Allred in a

It is perfectly appropriate to condemn these women for hurling accusation while hiding behind a shield of anonymity.

In Clinton’s case ALL the women stepped forward and identified themselves.

But blaming Cain with no evidence that he did anything wrong is JUST FINE, right?

Where is the complaint back then that she filed Gloria? Was it not anything to worry about until someone waved a check under her nose?

I’ve wanted Gov. Rick Perry to seek the GOP nomination for many years and am looking forward to seeing Rick and Anita Perry in the White House.

His background in farming, military service, dealing with border issues, economy and patriotism speak volumes on his behalf. May this country be fortunate enough to give Perry the presidency. We will all sleep better at night.

Darling, these women are not hurling accusations at Cain. they hurled something at him over ten years ago, but, unless this Allred story proves to be true, they’ve said nothing since.

It’s all been the press and politicos.

So, let’ leave off the trailer park talk unless something else happens.

The media double standard is one thing.

But the comprehensive hypocrisy of the Democrats is another. They, including Joel P. Bennett (a Clinton pal) and Gloria Alred (a NAG gal), have no problem with a notorious rapist in the White House. Not only in the White House, but pursuing his sexual crimes and misadventures in the Oval Office, while on the phone with a congressman about a war that was ongoing.

The Libs argued without shame that none of the this conduct had ANY negative impact on the President, the presidency or the nation. It was “private.” It did not affect the president’s character or fitness for office.

Even lying about it under oath was not a problem for Libs — because it was “only sex” — real, honest-to-goodness SEX acts — and “only sex” was, basically, meaningless, both morally, ethically and legally.

All of a sudden these same people show up to flack for the idea that making a woman uncomfortable makes a man unfit for the presidency.

I’m not suggesting I’m willing to have the Clinton “standard” apply to our nominee. But the logical non sequitur here is massive.

Reason no one “remembered” about those “sexual advances” until now is no one thought Cain would get this far.

I don’t care how many women come forward...he’d got my vote. I think those accusing Cain are as reliable as that scabby creature that’s claiming Justin Bieber is her baby-daddy. (Last photo I saw of JB’s accuser..she had a nasty canket sore on her upper lip...YUCK!)

The only reason the women are being blamed is because they make allegations through an attorney and friend of John Podesta, yet refuse to talk about it themselves.

The NRA has given them the clearance to speak out.

If we are supposed to believe them, they would have to come out and tell their story and submit themselves to scrutiny.

If they don’t do that, it has to be considered “not much”.

In all of Cain's business career, Godfather', Burger King, Pillsbury and The Fed there seem to have been no allegations other than the short term at the Restaurant Association that is based in Washington D.C..

This is odd...

Anybody see the irony in that?

Nope. Clinton's victims came forward and stated clearly what he did. The women accusing Cain have not come forward nor stated what he did, even when their non-disclosure agreement was waived. At this late date, anyone making an additional allegation will be under intense scrutiny, as it should be.

The settlements were with the NRA not with Cain so it is very likely that he knew nothing about them since they were not made with him.

if he didn’t say “kiss it” or “put some ice on that”,

The MSM and the Dems were completely FINE with this. They had NO problem with a president who had ACTUALLY engaged in this CRIMINAL conduct.

They spent billions of hours arguing that it was "only sex" and it had nothing to do with Clinton's fitness for office.

Now, suddenly, those same people are acting as though the present allegations are the biggest threat to the Republic in its history.

Does anyone in the MSM honestly believe Gloria Allred would be out there trumping up these stories against a DEM?

That said, if there's something that actually impugns the conduct or character of one of our candidates, I will consider it closely.

But these hypocritical rapist-supporting Dems make me sick.

FYI..the lead story on Politico today, a BIG picture of Cain, with the headline “Foes count on Cain to self-destruct”

Not defending Romney or Perry, but if any of these claims are factual, Herman has no one except himself to blame. If this is just another story with zero evidence, Herman will keep climbing.

The MSM isn’t the only ones jumping to conclusions with no evidence.....

I posted last week that Gloria Allred would be out trolling, trying to find some woman she could then offer to represent and lean on to come forward.

Bingo.

Honey sweety pie, since when is a woman saying “I was sexually harassed by Cain” not hurling an accusation at him that they were sexually harassed?

It doesn’t matter if it went through their lawyer, he was representing them and I heard nothing from these women denying any of it.

The same rules apply to the women as apply to can. Cain id the one being unfairly treated since he is being asked to PROVE he did not sexually harass them and since he has DENIED doing so and the women have NOR provided any details, Cain is being asked to do the impossible and that is prove a negative.

OK babe?
