RIP, Joe!
Rest in peace champ......just watched a documentary on the Thrilla in Manilla amazing heart in the man
The first Ali Frazier fight was great, the others were not bad either, but seeing Ali off his feet for the first time in his career, what a shot. RIP Joe and thanks for the great memories.
Yes, that is a dup. Check posting times.
Always liked him better than Cassius Clay aka Muhammed..two different men..one with a lot more class and that was Frazier. He is with God now
“...seeing Ali off his feet for the first time in his career...”
Henry Cooper previously knocked Clay down.
RIP Joe Frazier. He was the greatest.
God bless his family.
Yup I had for got that one...
R.I.P.
And now he has passed.
RIP
I don’t know how Ali manged to beat him 2 out of 3 times with the way Fraiser beat the hell out of him.
Liver huh?
My uncle is going under the knife today to remove a tumor in his colon. Looks like they found it in time.
“They fought three times, twice in the heart of New York City and once in the morning in a steamy arena in the Philippines. They went 41 rounds together, with neither giving an inch.
In their last fight in Manila in 1975, they traded punches with a fervor that seemed unimaginable among heavyweights. Frazier gave almost as good as he got for 14 rounds, then had to be held back by trainer Eddie Futch as he tried to go out for the final round, unable to see.
Closest thing to dying that I know of, Ali said afterward.”
The results: Frazier dies (relatively) young and Ali has severe brain damage.
Best of luck to your uncle!!!
I don’t know how Ali could be the reason for Frazier’s cancer but Frazier is definitely the main reason Ali has brain damage. Some even (rather cruelly) call his condition “Frazieritis”.
And thank you.
RIP.
I never heard of Frazieritis before, but it does seem to fit...
