Sigh. Time to get a job in my own state. We cannot afford to support Ohio’s spend-a-holic party.

I think Ohioans are dumber than rocks when it comes to how to vote on these issues. They probably thought a NO vote meant no, it wouldn’t be repealed. The thugs saw to it that the voters were confused. Not to worry, Kasich and company need to rewrite the bill and pass it again - or lay the union parasites off - whichever is easier. (and I’m a Buckeye. The union thugs and liars did their job of lying - now we all will pay the price.

The unions demagogued the issue by scaring voters into thinking there won’t be enough cops and firefighters if the Issue 2 passed. On a good note, Issue 3 to reject Obamacare is being passed by a wide margin.

Crap, now they will send the brownshirts back to Wisconsin again.

Sadly, you're probably right, Wisconsinlady. This landslide victory will embolden the union thugs BIG TIME.

MSLSD's Ed Schultz is currently holding an on-camera celebration in Columbus, OH, surrounded by partying thugs holding union-printed signs of militant fists in the air. Disgusting.

WHERE are all the conservative voters in Ohio? :-(

Me thinks accounting isn’t their strong suit.

I would then implement a Christmas tree tax system to pay for this. Low earners who may need services at a higher rate pay proportionately more. Empowered workers won’t need as many services so they should pay less.

The unions dumped BIG, BIG money into the state. The ads against Issue 2 were nearly 5 to 1 compared to ads supporting Issue 1.

Must be many voters are too dumb to realize the taxpayers just lost.

"Those Firefighters and Teachers most certainly will lose their jobs now"

Ohio Union Members are mostly un-employed right now, EXCEPT for Government employees.

HOWEVER, they STILL vote Dem, and Union, even though the Unions drove the auto and steel industries out of Ohio and into Offshore Companies.....

Ohio (and most of the formerly-manufacturing States) are gonna learn that they can bargain for all the golden benefits and high wages they want, but there's NO MONEY to pay it....just as Kalifornia is finding out, those wonderful Government and Union wages and benefits have no INCOME-PRODUCING Taxpayers left to support them!

Bankrupting the State of Ohio is not gonna work out for them in the long run, but then, they deserve it.

Ohio could have ended up with more money to hire more teachers just like Wisconsin did, but Ohio voters chose otherwise.

I think for the most part that well rounded basic thought about where the funds originate is lost on the under 40 generation. It is ridiculous.

Hmmm. Tom Tancredo may have been right after all about the need for a civics literacy test for voters. Sad that the ignorant looters evidently own the ballot box in Ohio.

And Tea Party groups were strangely tepid during the whole campaign season.

Governor Kasich was the most subdued I've ever seen him.

WHERE are all the conservative voters in Ohio

Mostly in western Ohio, where I live. :)

Truth be told, lots of those conservatives belong to police anf fire unions (and the UAW, etc). The Ohio GOP overreached when they passed SB5, and made the fatal error of including police and fire unions in the reforms; had they been left out of the changes (like in Wisconsin), this referendum would never have made the ballot.

Ignore the Lefty gloating; these reforms will be back, probably early next year, and will be passed one-by-one, which will make them much harder to repeal. In the meantime, we prepare for battle (and they can look forward to layoffs).

They were raised dumb as rocks into believing union is the only way too live; corrupt or not. They need to vote to be a right to work state and be free people. They just don’t know anything else. They still think Cleveland could win someday.

I am over in Indiana and the Indianapolis mayor a Republican won. Voter turnout was horrible. The City/County council went RAT.

It also told me that if we plan to win in 2012, the Tea Party and our voters better get off their butts get out there and make sure voters understand the issues.

They need to see we haven’t retreated and we are still willing to fight back.

Layoff’s - I have been saying it all along. Let them learn how to work within a budget and come up with some creative ideas to get along with less. I am ashamed to live in this state tonight and ashamed of my parents and neighbors who voted to repeal the bill. They had every union organization out in solidarity acting like living within your means was the end of the world. My own parents refused to debate the bill with me and when I made a point of telling them about the union guys going door to door to get votes, I was told “good, they are doing their job”..WTH?? My wages were going to PAY FOR THOSE FOLKS to canvass against something I SUPPORT. I am furious at the FIREWORKS going off in my neighborhood celebrating the bill’s defeat.
