Will Someone Tell Us What Herman Cain Did?
IBD Editorials ^ | November 9, 2011 | Editor

Scandal: After 10 days of saturation coverage by the media, we still don't definitely know any more about Herman Cain's alleged misdeeds than we did when Politico first broke the story. Media balance, anyone?

Since breaking the sexual harassment story about the presidential contender in late October, Politico alone has published more than 100 dispatches. TV networks aired a whopping 99 stories in the first nine days. And the Cain saga continues to merit front page treatment at major newspapers.

Yet with every news outlet working overtime to keep the Cain story alive, we still know next to nothing about what Cain allegedly did. Which is basically right where the story was when Politico broke it in late October.

Indeed, the only actual, undisputed, verifiable facts about this story are that two women filed sexual harassment complaints against Cain more than a decade ago when he was head of the National Restaurant Association, and settled their claims out of court.

We also know that every harassment claim against Cain dates back more than a decade. Oh, and we now know the name of one of those original accusers: Karen Kraushaar.

That's it.

We don't know what the two women who settled say Cain did. We don't know if their claims were credible. And we certainly don't know if Cain did what he's said to have done in those complaints, since organizations routinely settle harassment claims to avoid costly litigation and bad PR.

Was born black, became convinced that the conservative political perspective was right, then ran for President of the United States.

He appeared to have done something. That is enough for the ultraliberal idiots to raise Holy Heck! Their attitude is “we don’t like him so he has to go”.

The crabs in the DNC bucket don’t like to see a minority make something of himself so he’s got to be pulled back down.

The MSM does not care. It is having the effect they want isn’t it? Political Assassination.

Do you expect them to cover OWS crime waves? Fast & Furious? Solyndra kickback scandal? Mayors who encourage riots? A Dem legislator stealing from Neiman Marcus? Obama dissing the leading of Israel?

No, those are not news worthy.

Meanwhile the Rat media kept John Edwards’ bastard child out of the news to keep him viable in the 2008 scampaign and deny Hillary enough DNC delegates.

What does sex mean in a campaign anyway anymore? NOW said in the error-of-Clinton that the first grope is free. Use state troopers to drag a girl to your hotel room, drop trou, and order her to “kiss it” and it’s all good as long as you are pro-abortion. Rape allegations? So what, he’s got to get back to the economy for the chi’ren.

For me, the question is not whether I believe the allegations against Herman Cain or not. I think the real question is: Do I care? After thinking things over, I have concluded that if that is all they got against him, I don’t care. After FDR and his women, JFK and his women, LBJ and his women, WJC and his women, J. Edwards and his women, Gerry Studds and his boys, Barney Franks and his peccadilloes with nary a word of moral outrage from any member of the dinosaur media or Democrat liberals, they do not have any standing on issues of character, morals or ethics, particularly concerning conservatives. If they wish to discuss ethics, character or morals, they first must get some. What is that old Cajun joke about the Pope and sex? “He no play the game; he no make the rules.”

Am I going to vote for Cain? I don’t know; haven’t decided. I haven’t made decisions about any of our candidates except I don’t care for Romney…and Ron Paul’s naïve utopian foreign and military pronouncements scare the hell out of me. The rest except maybe Huntsman, I would cheerfully support.

I don’t think that he did anything.
He did however have the misfortune of meeting some gold digging skanks during his business career.
