Penn State Scandal: Mother of Alleged Victim Says Son Was Afraid to Tell Sandusky 'No'
ABC News ^ | November 11, 2011 | KEVIN DOLAK

The mother of the boy who triggered the investigation into Jerry Sandusky's alleged child sex assaults says that during the years of abuse the boy suffered he felt he didn't have the power to say no to the former Penn State football coach.

Speaking exclusively with George Stephanopoulos on ABC News' "Good Morning America" the mother of the boy, who is referred to in court papers as Victim 1, describes how she learned of the abuse and how her son lived in fear of coming forward to implicate a football coaching legend.

"I had said, 'You know, maybe we should have come to this conclusion earlier -- you should have told me,'" the mother, whose name is being withheld, said she told her son. "He was like, 'Well, I didn't know what to do … you just can't tell Jerry no.'"

Oh give me a frickin break. The “dad” was nothing more than a sperm donor, drug addict, deadbeat, out spreading his wild oats in our sick sex crazed society.

Uuuuuhhh, this will be lawsuit #1234?/s

As it should be. Here we thought schools were so protective the way they'll lock down the whole school at the blink of an eye, to think they'd let an unrelated man have free unsupervised access to little boys is mind blowing.

The time has arrived for that school to call their banker and ante up.

Sandusky is also homosexual, which would keep him out of the Boy Scouts.

Probably not. I think an 800# to make it easier for kids to report would be a good idea though. Too many hide what happened and then more kids wind up getting abused.

Right where is “dad”. “Dad” is often one who has left to “find himself” or otherwise. When “dad” does not have time or desire to take a part in a son’s life, that son misses an important relationship in his life.

I wonder why the mother only had 1 phone call. Why was she willing to do nothing about it?

Seems no one is willing to stand up. So, you see why that child is afraid to say “no”. He has no one to help him - they are too busy allowing predators to practice their behavior - including many judges who see nothing wrong with “love” between a child and an adult man.

Makes me sick.

How would they know, you mean he would admit it on his application?

Contrast this with the giggly gal who claims Cain was “inappropriate” with her. The people who come out in the limelight to tell a story are not the people who have been through that whole pathology of shame and vulnerability.

The Democrat Liberal Media supports gay rights and promotes this stuff. Wasn’t the head of Penn State up for a job in the Obama Administration?

They would know however they could know. Maybe he would be able to effectively hide behind a wedding ring. The point is that if they knew, they would not give him access to the boys.

I agree with you, my BS flags went up as soon as the stories started breaking, my opinion it’s all about the money now.

You make very good points. Sandusky is a physically imposing man who had a lot of authority; he would make many women and children quite fearful, not just physically but for their economic well-being. In addition, they are basically in a one-show town that has almost religious respect for anything Paterno and the Penn State football program does — remember, its not only their reputation but the fact that the $ 75 million annual profit this program makes employs a lot of people and buys a lot from stores, restaurants and hotels in town. It is not easy going up against a demi-god and the money others make off of him

There is another aspect of the grooming of young boys. Homosexual predators do not just "jump" their victims without first working very gradually to gain their trust through attention and gifts. Then they pull a guilt trip/blackmail line on the kid "Here I spent all this time on you and gave you x, y and z. Do you have any idea how much that cost? Are you gonna repay me in cash or??? Maybe I should send a bill to your mom...."

And the boy—is completely believable that he didn’t know how to come forward about the abuse—he probably didn’t even have words to know what happened to him.

I'm thinking the same thing. The kid was probably relieved when a teacher from his own school walked in on one of the attacks. He probably thought, "Finally, another adult knows. Surely, this will put an end to it." Only, that's not what happened. Nothing was done. The attacks continued. He realized at that point that there was no hope - and that telling another adult would only confirm that hopelessness.

I am blown away knowing that God continues to love us.

Money will have always have a greater hold over the minds of men than anything else.

There were 70 million + rea$on$ why no one said anything.

Exactly, and these ones that come out lying & making a mockery of it all, are making it even harder for real victims to be believed!

Does anybody think that Coach McQueary would be a Penn State coach in 2011 if he had reported this to the police in 2001?

Can anybody believe that Coach [sic] McQueary is still a coach at Penn State in 2011 knowing that this horrid abuse of defenseless children continued for ten years because he didn't report this to the police in 2001?

Considering the riots were because he was fired and not because he attacked little kids I can well imagine the response when anyone tried to report this.

For sure, the mother probably was afraid of retribution from the high & mighty University if she & her young son reported such an event. That prevents alot of victims from reporting these things. They are usually up against someone more powerful than themselves, as perps like this usually prey on kids from less fortunate circumstances!

Where the f**k is DAD?!?!

Ah, you mean the government. Government has waged a war against personal responsibility for half a century now. And after the culmination of that death, you realize that 'DAD' can't be held responsible either.

Re the absence of fathers in these child molestation cases:

These days, a “single mom” is simply a woman who chose not to obligate the father of her children by demanding marriage and commitment. And there’s no stigma attached.

Long time ago, there were “divorced moms” and “widowed moms” and not much else. Pregnant single women gave up their children for adoption.

Indeed, where are the fathers?
