WaPo: "Inexplicable: Cain rides high" (Wapo misses the good old "macaca moment" days.)
Washington Compost ^ | 11/11/11 | Jonathan Capehart

We (read America) spent all day yesterday holding vigil over the presidential ambitions of Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R-Oops). Thanks to a brain hiccup during Wednesday’s debate, Perry, who has watched his savior status slip with each successive debate, now finds himself practically politically dead. All because he couldn’t remember the third federal agency he’d eliminate.

Meanwhile, inexplicably, Herman Cain thrives.

They broke up back in February, so why was it reported that they were still engaged? Did she say he was still her fiance? A history of lies?

There’s money coming from somewhere, and it’s been for a while, if one takes him at his word. I hope the Cain campaign and their attorney is looking into this.

Wow! That is quite interesting.

Appreciate the heads up...Looking much better now.

I also like that it is not "over-done". I can get around the site easily. Listening to a Rush clip from Cain's site now. ;)

Is there any wonder they are baffled, look at the type of people we are talking about. These are thesame people that when Ronald Reagan died they sat in shock at the out pouring of emotions by the public. It was almost commical watching the 'lamestream' boys and talking heads try to cover that which they could not explain and so it is here.

The 'Lamestream' media, the rino's, inside the beltway boys and political pundits of all stripes never saw Cain as a viable candidate. There has been a solid stream of reasons coming from them since he announced as to why Cain couldn't be taken seriously, why Cain can’t win, why Cain is only a second tier candidate and as those reasons grew thinner in substance they have been forced again and again to find more and different reasons as to why Cain can't win.

Why do they continue to derail Cain even as he defeats their arguments against him?

There are any number of reason, he is not a member of the insiders club for one, he’s not a known career politician for another, but mostly these people just don’t understand a man like Herman Cain. Not that that is entirely their fault, because men like Herman Cain are so rare these days, men of real integrity.

It’s been at least 30 years since these people have had to deal with some of Cain’s stripe and they are completely out of their depths in trying to understand him.

Herman Cain who truly was until recently a virtual unknown had faith enough in himself to decide to run for President of the United States on his own. There was no Media hype/pressure/build-up about a possible run, there was no urging by members of the Party, no words spoken into his ear by party players, elites, beltway boys or pundits, not even a word of encouragement from the Republican Party of his home state only faith in himself.

And time and time again Herman Cain has shown just what kind of man he is. Is he without faults? Hardly, no man is without his faults, but one measure of a man is how he faces his faults and Herman not only faces his faults, but admits to them, learns from them, teaches others from then and lastly he laughs at himself over them and it takes a man who is truly sure in himself to be able to laugh at their own mistakes.

Considering the great numbers of skeptics on this forum I am sure there will be a good number of FReepers who will find this post funny and stupid, but here goes: I think one of the reasons people support Herman and why so many skeptics can’t see Cain for what he is can be summed up in the following lines from the 2003 movie 'Secondhand Lions'

Hub: "Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love... true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in."

In Herman Cain we see a good man, an honorable man, a man that has made his mark through his own effort and owes no one other than God and his Parents for his success. We see a man who did not seek money and power, but achieved them and a yet they clearly hold no sway over him.

Apparently, rolling out five liars isn’t enough to make a lie morph into the truth. They’ll just have to go shopping again.

Recall the (paraphrased) words of James Carville re Paula Jones, when he said it’s amazing what you can find by dragging $100 through a trailer park.

Maybe the democrat johns should offer more.

The Liberal Press and far left progressives love this Marxist, half Black, anti-American we have as president and they don't want to see anyone near Conservative replace this Marxist negro let alone another Black who loves his country. As for Perry, he is a decent man and far from toast however, Newt is still one of two adults on the stage and one of two with knowledge of our Constitution and what this country does or should stand for....also one of two who is not afraid to call a spade a spade.

Cain’s campaign and the growing support for it are an embarrassment — for the Republican Party and for the United States. At the rate things are going, we might have to wait for the voters in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina to bring some sense and clarity to the race.

And if Herman does well in those states, Jonathan Capehart will commit public suicide.

The best attempted shots at Cain were various media sources deliberately putting Cain’s pictures on pages featuring the Penn State child rape scandal.

Cain’s campaign and the growing support for it are an embarrassment — for the Republican Party and for the United States.

Mr. Capehart and sadly, millions of Americans like him fail to see themselves as the Communist or Socialists they have become that is why Herman Cain is so liked by those of us left who cherish freedom - Mr. Cain is 1st and American) second: a Conservative and third: understands the need for a Conservative at the helm of this nation. Obama a Marxist/Socialist has nigh-on wrecked this Republic with his freedom-less policies and abuse of our Constitution and Laws.
