Oh no! He thought first, then spoke! We can't have such prudence our politibots.

By the standard being raised here any hack spouting canned answers on the McLaughlin Group would be a better president. Wanna crown Eleanor Clift?

More games of gotcha from the Romney folks and the "Perry - he'll grow on you" crowd.

Even taking into account that his guard was down, there is no excuse for Cain looking as lost as he did. The ‘I disagree for the following reasons . . . wait, no, that’s a different line’ moment is what did it for me - it came across not as being thoughtful and deliberate, but as trying to recall the right canned answer.

And there was no reason for Cain to let his guard down - he was doing an interview with an MSM editorial board. If the camera wasn’t there, the editors still would have reported that he had trouble coming up with a coherent response to the Libya situation; the only difference is that, now, they have video evidence.

Lighten up. I haven’t “destroyed” Perry, nor did I even mention him. Seems like a nice guy, who sadly may have destroyed himself. And i take no pleasure from that.

The rest of your post amounts to some sort of attack - not much there to respond to.

Thank you for pointing that out. He also said at one time to reporters, “We’re staying on message.”

One of the men in the video used the word “cram”—a perfect description of what is happening in the Cain camp. Seventeen-year-old freshmen at the School of Foreign Service know all about Libya and what they think about it. The “right of return” continues to be the main stumbling block to any Palestinian “peace” proposals and has been for a long time. It is a very important phrase.

Let’s stop making excuses for this candidate and go forward.

He started to say he didn’t like the way Obama did it. Then realized that belonged to a different question.

I agree, but I see this as more of a rookie mistake by an unseasoned candidate (which admittedly is a legitimate issue regarding electability.) I am supporting Cain, not because of “electability”, but because I feel as President he would confront the nation's problems in the most meaningful way. I think as Conservatives we hold the high ground in the 2012 election and therefore I'm going with the candidate I feel is the most conservative over the more seasoned and perhaps more“electable” candidates.

Well, then call 99% of America, including me, is ignorant. Unless one is a union member why would one know or care? I am very intelligent, but I surely do not know everything, nor do you.

Why did you ever support Herman Cain if you didn’t know him? Have you read his book? Do you know his life story?
His accomplishments?

Why do you not understand that he is the worst nightmare for the Evil Le3ft? That the Evil Left is not above going to any lengths to destroy him for that reason?

Why are you taken in by lies?

Why do you not fight for what you believe in, if, indeed, you have the courage of your convictions to fight for what was right rather than allow yourself to be taken in by those lies?

Why do you not think that being ahead in nearly all the straw polls is not progress for Mr. Cain? In Mark Levin’s GOP poll as of 6:30 Sunday evening was: Cain 55%, Gingrich 411% and Romney 4% with a then total of 12,188 votes? That is not progress?

Why do you think the Cain campaign has received 9 million dollars, much of it since the false allegation smear began?
Because the people wisely know that Herman Cain would be
incapable of treating a woman with other than respect!

The devil makes you blind. That is the correct answer.

Perry has never had to really debate. Texans know his record and frankly debate skills are not a requirement for POTUS.

When was the last time a President had a Televised Debate with the Leader of a Foreign Country?
When you have time read the Nixon Khrushev Debate.
http://www.watergate.info/nixon/1959_nixon-khrushchev-kitchen-debate.shtml

Yet Nixon Lost the election because his upper lip sweat in a Debate!
Ask yourself, would Cain be able to defend America with such a mad dog commie?

Just a meaningless prediction. I think that when people get done watching the talent contest, bathing suit walk, and questions from the MC. That the logical Choice will be Perry.

Romney is a resounding NO. There are 65% of Repub voters checking out the booths at the primary fair. In the end I have to believe they will come down on the side of what’s best for America.

Cains fallback answer to just about everything: “I was taken out of context.”

Agree--and it's really disheartening.

I had heard the clips on the radio ... and I cringed at that. But, watching the body language—well, it’s beyond painful. Sad.

The answer is no, I did not watch the video before posing. But I have watched it since. I didn’t know you were referring to an interrogation deliberately designed to trip up the interviewee. Until they saw it written in their scripts neither did any of the multi interrogators. They were foaming at the mouth in delight. Such evil to deliberate corner a perfectly capable man with things no civilian but only career politicians would be aware of! I am outraged at the overt evil of Mr. Cain’s opposition! Nor have I ever seen it so openly paraded against any candidate ever running for president before!

If you have been formally educated in the past 40 years, as oyou obviously were , by all that water behindyour ears, then your indocrination has stolen your soul, and you don’t even know it.

Cain’s strength is not politics. It’s business. The reason Newt sounds so polished in history and politics is because he was a history major who was a professional politician and professor. Cain has shown brilliance in his field as well, but his competence is measured in the bottom line and his ability to turn around failing companies.

The two of them would make a remarkable pair.

Well, how would you have looked under the same circumstances? (A gorgeous horse amid a pack of slavering wolves?)

Only one Man was ever Perfect. Cain hasn’t learned to fake it yet, and hopefully he never will. That’s why I like him so much.

And he hasn’t been afraid to admit it if he down[t know something. Just standing next to career politicians can rub off on a man! Go Herman Cain! Stay honest and true to your principles.

Cain is a remarkable man without any doubt and I think he would be a superb president.

However he needs to up his game. Foreign policy is huge for America, not such a big issue for other countries (at election times), but in America you are the dominant world power and whoever takes over needs to project an image of being able to carry that baton. It is quite clear when you compare his mastery of economic issues with the out of his depth response to foreign policy that there is a knowledge gap that urgently needs addressing. Even the Bush light Perry spoke with more conviction on Saturday.

The video was cringe worthy if only for the fact he was trying to criticize Obama on Libya but didn’t really know why or at least didn’t articulate it well at all.

Lots of money coming into his campaign....rather than spending it on adverts etc, he should spend on campaign infrastructure and solid advisers and strategists.

He has shown he can build poll leads all on his own......but he is in the spotlight and it’s starting to look a tad shaky at a crucial time and Newt is going to be a major rival now.

I wish him well, I truly hope he wins because he is a clever, decent, honest and most importantly conservative man and America needs that more than ever.

Such evil to deliberate corner a perfectly capable man with things no civilian but only career politicians would be aware of!

How did they try to "deliberately corner" Cain with "things no civilian but only career politicians would be aware of"? They asked him what he thought of the President's handling of one of the most significant foreign policy events of the past year. The Libya situation is not something only a career politician would know about, it's something anyone who has been paying attention to current events should know about, and certainly anyone who aspires to become commander in chief. And you're arguing that asking that question is "overt evil"?!

About an hour ago, Rush played the audio clip of Obama’s 38-second incoherent flub when questioned about Iraq — in 2008, I think. That was so much worse!! And people still voted for Sh!t-For-Brains. Amazing.
