The FBI Announces Gangs Have Infiltrated Every Branch Of The Military Robert Johnson | Oct. 22, 2011

The FBI has released a new gang assessment announcing that there are 1.4 million gang members in the US, a 40 percent increase since 2009, and that many of these members are getting inside the military (via Stars and Stripes).

The report says the military has seen members from 53 gangs and 100 regions in the U.S. enlist in every branch of the armed forces. Members of every major street gang, some prison gangs, and outlaw motorcycle gangs (OMGs) have been reported on both U.S. and international military installations.....

Does the UCMJ still exist? Is it being enforced? Who are the people training these thugs to kill? A looooong time ago, when I was at Parris Island, there was a story going around the company that the series ahead of ours was particularly troublesome in the early days of their training.

The story told of one of the platoons (Platoon 1024, C Company) were all gang members from New York and that THEY were going to run the Marine Corps. It did not take long for the Company Commander to notice that the Drill Instructors were not having much luck in changing the attitudes.

The Company Commander, a squat 5’6”, decided to clean the mess up himself. Armed with a swagger stick, he walked into the squadbay, turned off the lights and proceeded to stomp the nonsence out of the thugs - all 72 of them!

What happened after that? Well, they all graduated and they were one of the sharpest platoons around. Maybe far fetched, but I’ve heard the story from two individuals who knew what happened. I doubt the Captain could get away with that today.

Used to be that small time offenders were often given the choice of being a GI or going to jail. But whole gangs volunteering? Or are they recruiting once there?

We need to either institute a military draft or cut back our foreign deployments drastically so that we require only a small elite professional core.

Hard to believe Obama or Holder haven’t ordered the FBI to cease and desist on this sort of profiling. I mean, who cares who gets in the military, right?

On another note, as a shipboard Corpsman in the latter days of Vietnam, my LST transported a company of Marines once, the enlisted men made up entirely of those from a special program where a judge gave them a choice at sentencing of either 3-5 in prison or 3 in the Marines. True to form, shipboard fights of the most vicious variety sprang up repeatedly, and I and the Marine ‘s Corpsmen stayed busy down in sick bay treating the wounds, several of which were savage bites with full thickness “meat” taken out. Never before or since seen such stuff.

Emphasis on "small time". Small time used to mean stealing hubcaps, shoplifting, getting into drunken fights.

What is needed is to exclude any applicant with a felony record, with the routine sealing of juvenile records NOT being applicable to this investigation.

From the article: Gang members with military training pose a unique threat to law enforcement personnel because of their distinctive weapons and combat training skills and their ability to transfer these skills to fellow gang members.

Perhaps of greater concern to Eric Holder and his fellow Obamulans in the DOJ and DHS:

Conservatives (Tea Party, NRA, GOA, Oath Keepers, etc) with military training pose a unique threat to Regime enforcement personnel because of their ability to acquire distinctive weapons via the 2nd Amendment, combat training skills, and their ability to transfer these skills to fellow Conservatives.

That’s not enough corruption to the moral fiber of the military, by far! We need the Muslim Brotherhood and homo sex promoters in there, too! The military has never heard of diversity? /s/

Our forces are stretched pretty thin as it is. There's a limit to how selective recruitment can be. The same long term trend that puts a strain on Social Security puts a strain the military. Some hard choices are on the horizon for both.

Back in the early 70’s you had One day motivation and CCP(Correctional Custody Platoon) and the regular Motivation Platoons at MCRD San Diego to correct the gang bangers from LA that would show up in boot. That is also not counting the looking the other way that a lot of the officers did when a Drill Instructor used hands on methods to correct a tardy recruit.

...only a small elite professional core.

Tried that in the 1930s, nearly had a disastrous outcome. The world is not filled with rainbows and unicorns.

...institute a military draft...

Barring a direct, visible, and imminent threat to the actual United States, highly unlikely to pass political muster.

The one federal tax expenditure and government function that is clearly Constitutional is national defense. Everything else can get in line behind that, IMO.
