Today is November 17, the two month anniversary since Occupy Wall Street began. Protestors have declared today to be an International Day of Action, calling for people to "occupy their block," to "shut down Wall Street" starting at 7:00 AM, and to "occupy the subway" starting at 3:00 PM. We have been hearing that protestors, and the NYPD, will be amassing all over the city today, and will be live blogging dispatches from our own Village Voice staff writers Rosie Gray (@_rosiegray) and Nick Pinto (@macfathom), as well as photographer C.S. Muncy (@CSMuncyPhoto), who are on the scene through out lower Manhattan.
5:15 AM: From the anchor desk here in downtown Brooklyn, we hear a helicopter that sounds like it is heading towards Manhattan. Nick sends two pictures: this one appears to be on an NYPD roll call, just north of the Wall Street bull:

I have heard OWS idiots saying they wanted to “relive the 60s;” in the 1960s, I used to hear the other kids (many of whom were red diaper babies, since I grew up on the Upper West Side) saying they wanted to “relive the 30s.” The left regarded those periods as their glory days.
How could they resist it. Imperialist occupier white Christians have a big meal with some indigenous non-white Native Americans, and then rob them blind. If they won’t protest this, they’ve like, sold out, man. Pass the reefer to my five-year-old, man.
I hope there are a lot of hippie heads cracked open today.

Don’t think that’ll be necessary. They’re occupying everything, so that means from Bronx to Coney Island there’ll be lone nuts to get cuffed and brought down to One Police Plaza. Ought to be a zoo over there, though.
