NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) They were caught in the middle of madness.
Some grade school students were forced to walk a gauntlet of screaming Occupy Wall Street protesters just to get to school on Thursday.
It was a wild day in lower Manhattan for most everyone involved, including elementary school children who had to brave the mayhem just to get to class on the other side of Wall Street.

In the middle of thousands of protestors yelling and chanting some kicking and screaming CBS 2s Emily Smith found little school kids trying to get to class. Nervous parents led them through the barriers on Wall Street. The NYPD helped funnel the children, anything to ease their fears while some protestors chanted follow those kids!
These guys are terrorists, yelling at little kids, one father said.
For them its horrible. Theyre afraid of all the crowds. Were not even able to get through. Theyre just, hes very afraid now, a mother added.
One protester followed a father and his little daughter all the way down the block. As the school day ended just after 3 p.m. children trickled out of Leman Manhattan Prep on Broad Street. Smith heard a 4-year-old boy telling his mom he was scared. He told Smith it looked like a parade.
There was a parade. It was scary crowded with school, the boy said.
After a while it got so bad some parents couldnt get their children through and they had to go late, said Gary Goldenstein of Tribeca.
Some saw the days doings as chaos; others saw it differently.
The parents actually along with teachers were at every entry point into this area, which is fantastic, said Vicki Pitcock of Tribeca.
School officials said they havent had to change school times or cancel class, and are trying to keep it that way.

I suggest we declare a “TAKE YOUR LOUISVILLE SLUGGER TO WORK” day
If some smelly degenerate POS happens to get in the way while practicing your home run swing........
What did Stalin say... you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs?
Meaning those kids are expendable if it furthers the revolution.
Good point. You can see the truth of your statement in the faces of the OWS.
They’re insane. And Bloomberg is letting them get away with it. He should be impeached tomorrow.
Barack Hussein Obama approves of this ...
If I were the father of the child who was stalked by a protester, two things would have happened.
1. I would beat the shit out of the protester, and
2. I would tell the cop that the protester was stalking his daughter like a sexual predator, that I had to protect my child, and that I want him arrested for stalking (and a check to see if he had a “yellow sheet”.
If I had a trial for beating him up, I would only have parents in the jury. You know the rest.
nullification for you FRiend, if i lived there...
I learned “jury nullification” tactics from the communists, esp. William Kunstler, Charles R. Gary (one of Hillary’s legal mentors - New Haven Black Panther murder trial), and Arthur Kinoy.
It is a two edged sword, if we use it properly.
If it were my kid in that situation I would take her aside and use this as a (I HATE this smarmy phrase) “teachable moment”. I’d explain to her that since she’s going to eventually learn about the birds and bees here’s the first thing you need to know. Take a good look around. This is what a bunch of a$$holes and d*ckheads REALLY look like.
“...THEY DID THIS TO MY KID THEY’D BE SCRAPING HIPPY REMAINS OFF THE SIDEWALKS!...”
I concur wholeheartedly.
Remember that it IS New York and folks are disarmed via the Sullivan Act which prohibits peasents from carrying firearms for lawful self defense.
That’s why these OWSholes are so brazen. They know no one is going to drill them between them the eyes.
There’s other ways of dealing with them, though... there are PLENTY of things you can carry that are legal (for now) that you can use to protect yourself and your family that WILl cause damage and make the perp cease and desist.
