A Pause in the Tebow Argument
To enjoy the conclusion of Thursday night’s Broncos-Jets game, you did not have to buy into the legend of Tim Tebow or care one whit about his religion or politics or the ridiculousness of the Tebowing craze. You didn’t even have to hate the Jets or detest the word “Sanchize,” although that would be a plus. Even without all of that, it was possible to sit back and marvel at how preposterous Tebow’s winning touchdown drive was, after 54 minutes of acting as if he had stumbled into a football game for the first time and decided to play quarterback.
Of course, to enjoy the conclusion of Thursday night’s Broncos-Jets game, you had to watch the first 54 minutes of two teams acting as if they had stumbled into a football game for the first time. But the ending was sublime, unless you’re a Jets fan, in which case we fear for the safety of your television screen.

That is certainly part of it. Denver thought they were drafting a quarterback; however they drafted arguably the finest single wing tailback since Johnny Majors. Might be showing my age.

DENVER (4-5) and Tim Tebow are winning ugly, but they are winning. It was unreal that he only completed 2 passes last week in the Broncos win over Kansas City. Denver ran the ball 55 times in that game and you should see a lot of the same tonight. Tebow has become the only quarterback in NFL history to throw a TD pass and rush for at more than 25 yards in each of his first seven starts.
JETS (5-4) Were humiliated last Sunday night at home by the Patriots in their 37-16 home loss to decide first place in the AFC East. Sanchez sacked five times, and threw 2 interceptions. They will also be running the ball tonight is what should be a very ugly game. One problem for the Jets is they will miss LaDainian Tomlinson who will sit out with a sprained knee.
Why DENVER will win: The Jets suffered a big emotional loss on Sunday night, and have only 3 days to prepare to travel to Denver for this game. Traveling is bad as it is, but with no time to get ready, it’s really bad
Nobody believes in Tim Tebow, and all they can talk about how horrible he looks passing.
The Denver Broncos believe in Tim Tebow and will put forth a top effort on National TV.
The line is off by 3 or more points. The number should be Jets -3
The Jets will really miss LT tonight, as they will also have to run the ball.
Tim Tebow may not be a big passing threat, but he can run the ball at any time.

Been a Tebow fan since his Florida days. Hoping Santa brings me a Tebow jersey for Christmas.
Tebow has had only one turnover since starting for the Broncos. That is very important plus as a starter he has a better record than John Elway did when Ekway’s career started...
Von Miller was just as complimentary. It is clear that his teammates love him. Because Tebow believe in them.
Yes he does need to work on the short pass. He does better with long bombs. But since he has thrown only one turnover since starting, that is to Tebow’s credit. Turnovers will kill you. Better to have incompletes than turnovers...

That's right, they were all quarterbacks who won a SuperBowl. That should tell you how important the throwing skill of the quarterback is.
I've been following NFL football for fifty years and the most beautiful throwing motion I have ever seen was Vinny Testaverde. He could lay in a forty yard pass so softly that a five year old could catch it. Trouble was, he threw as many to the defense as to the offense.
But Elway spent his first couple of seasons getting sacked constantly. Elway was not an in the pocket passer, his early days was constant scrambling to avoid sacks. He only stayed in the pocket after he was worn down by injuries, and had an offensive line that could protect him. Elway developed a "sixth sense" of knowing when to get out of the pocket before he was sacked, which he later revealed he was watching the shadows on the field, and if he saw one that shouldn't be where it was, he ran.
What's going in Tebow's favor is that he is winning and learning how to win, and that gives him time to get the experience he needs.
Now, in order to totaly mess with everyone's heads, they need to working in plays where he is the receiver.

Fox said he’d just get up and go with the flow.
Elway didn’t like it cuz he wanted Stanford’s Luck,
He backstabbed the kid, but Timmy Tebow stuck
For the end of every game which Fox would let him start
To prove to the critics wrong. He was winning game smart.
From AFC basement into Play-off contention,
NFL experts had analysis dissention.
Winning those games Broncos were s’posed to lose
People started kneeling down wherever they chose.
Getting face-booked in Tim’s prayerful pose,
Became a world phenomenon—touching your nose.

So the Jets took to Mile-High the defense head,
Who wrote a book to stop the option in its tracks, dead.
Less than 60 seconds Denver’s twenty yards out,
Tim left Leonhard in his dust and Ryan to pout.
If you still are not sure of what to think of Tebow,
Look up at the board, see the win or loss sco’.
When John, Dan and Joe meet Tim, in Canton’s Hall of Fame,
They’ll say that from the start they knew Tim Tebow had game.
