Almost exactly a year ago, members of Congress voted overwhelmingly to censure their colleague Rep. Charlie Rangel for bringing dishonor on the House. Then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi summoned the New York Democrat to the well and chastised him for his 11 ethics violations, which included improper fundraising.

A driver was stuck in a traffic jam on the highway outside Washington, DC. Nothing was moving. Suddenly, a man knocks on the window.

The driver rolls down the window and asks, Whats going on?

Terrorists have kidnapped Congress, and theyre asking for a $100 million dollar ransom. Otherwise, they are going to douse them all in gasoline and set them on fire. We are going from car to car, collecting donations.

How much is everyone giving, on average? the driver asks.

The man replies, Roughly a gallon.

Translates, further into disrepute. When someone does something to reverse that trend, now that´s news. But it doesn´t happen very often.

“Rangel again brought the House into disrepute.”

Really? How is that possible? It’s not like they’ve got a great reputation or anything.

I almost fell off my chair that this was penned by Dana Milbank. Indeed.

Could it be that some on the Left are as disgusted as we are with the current state of corrupt affairs?
