The Catholic Church would be better served tending to their own sins, rather than caring about pornography.

It’s something that serious Christians of all flavors have taken note of. It’s easier to blame Roman Catholics because they are such a big target, and because there is more in that system to go wrong when it does go wrong.

Anyhow, everybody knows that conquering the whole world and forcing porn to disappear is not a practical agenda short of the return of Christ with considerable supernatural assist. Watching where one’s own eyes go is, in the meantime, a good beginning.

Seems to me that is exactly what this article is doing. Did you read the first couple of sentences?

Perhaps the Church is now resuming it’s paramount duty of saving souls after ridding its ranks of pedophiles. It appears now that it is Penn State and other ‘institutes of higher learning’ to cleanse their ranks.

Pedophiles and rapists have lurked and are lurking in many venues: schools, youth groups, charitable organizations, the UN, etc. etc.

The war against sexual-driven crime will not be won until the internet can be cleansed of evil that lurks awaiting the opportunity to convert young (and old) minds.

A deeper spirituality than “religious people” exhibit is necessary to deal with pornography.

Religious zealots who preach against the ills of society need to deliver themselves from those ills first and that requires their humility instead of their pride.

Wouldn’t pornography be one of those sins? Did you even bother to read the article?

“The Catholic Church would be better served tending to their own sins, rather than caring about pornography.”

If the church is so anti-pornography then why do they even have a pornograph?

The Church is and has done much to prevent any of this kind of evil. What church do you follow? One that is perfect, pure and Godlike? There is no such church but people like you must be perfect, too much so to even belong to any church. How do you know anything about what the Catholic Church is doing to care about porn? Your bias is why the haters in this Country are causing so much damage. Back up, with facts and figures what “they” would be better served doing, you stated that the Church shouldn’t “care” about porn? You are a smug, small minded twit with more mouth than brain.

The Catholic Church would be better served tending to their own sins, rather than caring about pornography.,

Of all the tired, worn out, meaningless cliches - is this the best you can do?

What the heck do you think the Catholic Church does at every Mass? Ya' think it might have something to do with "tending to their sins"?

As a Protestant I find the words of Jesus to be very fitting here: "Take care of the log in your own eye before you criticize the speck in someone else's eye."

You might want to consider that the one with the "log" is not the Catholic Church but those who are fond of condemning it while ignoring their own sins.

Another verse comes to mind about those who "hate the light because their deeds are evil."

And what makes you think this isn’t part of doing that?

You think the homosexual ephebophiles behind most of the scandals didn’t have extensive porn collections?

Besides...part of church - any church - is addressing morality.
The consumption of porn is absolutely an issue of morality.

They are working on it. I guarantee that they learned from this and will ensure it does not happen again. One area out of million they are looking at pornography as a tool for bad behavior. Obviously you are not Catholic.
