EU officials concluded that, following a three-year investigation, there was no evidence to prove the previously undisputed fact.
Producers of bottled water are now forbidden by law from making the claim and will face a two-year jail sentence if they defy the edict, which comes into force in the UK next month.
Last night, critics claimed the EU was at odds with both science and common sense. Conservative MEP Roger Helmer said: This is stupidity writ large.
The euro is burning, the EU is falling apart and yet here they are: highly-paid, highly-pensioned officials worrying about the obvious qualities of water and trying to deny us the right to say what is patently true.
If ever there were an episode which demonstrates the folly of the great European project then this is it.

“Thinking themselves wise they became fools.”
Corporations, if they were not run by politically correct loser CEO’s, would use this Sovietish proclamation from the EU as a great opportunity to harness the public against the dictators wannbes in the EU.
Alas, they are too stupid and bent to do it. Investors need to clean out the limo-global-communists heading up modern corporations. Who needs a union between the oppressive bureacrats and the leaders of business beyond Hitler?
Add liquid?
My husband used to say, “Don’t drink water because fish make love in it - drink Scotch.”
And don't even get me started on the evils of Dihydrogen Monoxide!
I was basing my comments on someone who’s dehydrated almost to the point of collapse. EMT’s use an electrolyte based re-hydration.
First Global warming, now this. Whats next ?.....Mormons are Christians ? Romney is a conservative ?
I was basing my comments on someone who’s dehydrated almost to the point of collapse. EMT’s use an electrolyte based re-hydration. Any strenuous activity needs something more than just plain water.

Water is evil.
Do not drink water no matter what!
Well, I mean for at least 7 days. After that, it will not matter.
In the immortal words of Moe Howard, “We’re gonna get rubbed out after the fight ... and you’re worried about a cream puff!”
You need electrolytes to replace the electrolytes in your body, in order to hydrate, you need water. Dehydration is the lack of water in your body, hydration is the replacement of that water. And what would you use to replenish the water in your cells? Oh, let me guess, Water?
We agree. I just thought you meant about day to day life.
Depends on lost volume and anticipated future loss plus the ability to recover. Normal saline or d50
Thanks for the ping and idea. I was about to do another song parody and people just can’t take that. LOL!
Electrolytes affect the amount of water in your body, the acidity of your blood (pH), your muscle function, and other important processes. You lose electrolytes when you sweat. You must replace them by drinking fluids.
Common electrolytes include:
Calcium Chloride Magnesium Phosphorous Potassium Sodium

I know a guy who worked with nuke reactors. The primary
cooling loop used ultra pure water. Someone he worked with
decided he liked drinking the stuff. It made him sick from
mineral depletion.
