Herman Cain was the winner of a statewide presidential straw poll announced Saturday of all Missouri Tea Party members.
With 995 total votes counted statewide, Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich were virtually tied for second at 28 percent of the vote each.
Poll totals were: Herman Cain, 320 (32 percent); Ron Paul, 282 (28 percent); Newt Gingrich, 276 (28 percent); Mitt Romney, 32 (3 percent); Michele Bachmann, 31 (3 percent); Rick Perry, 30 (3 percent); Rick Santorum, 13 (1 percent); Others, 2 percent.
Philip Todd said the one-week poll was conducted between Nov. 10 and Nov. 17 throughout Missouri.
James Holland, a Callaway County Patriot Tea Party leader, said he was not surprised by the results or by the fact that Romney, a consistent front runner in many nationwide presidential polls, had only 3 percent of the vote in the statewide poll of Tea Party members.

3% was a statement. We don't want you Rick.
Not a problem LVR. :-)
I pray daily for Cain to be our President in 2012. Glad to see you are on the Cain Train. Things will be so much better with him as President. I love the 999 proposal by the way. I think he is the most intelligent person in the race. PLEASE VOTE FOR CAIN 2012!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!
Just damn, that is too mucking futch....my sides are hurtin!!!
3% for Bachmann? Looks as if the Tea Partiers and conservatives are wise to running interference for Romney.
“...take me to the wood shed and beat me forever more...”

I somehow just don’t think that such drastic action is called for in this particular instance.
Phew, I was sweating it for a minute there, thanks!
LOL, just some Sunday afternoon humor to lighten the load!!
;)
My nerves are shot.
My sense of humor is beginning to vanish.
It is going to be a interesting time for the next 12 months.
Gov GoodHair is plotting his comeback as we speak. He will come back the same way McCain was really out of the Republican nomination race and came back......Unfortunately he then proceeded to throw the election to Jug Ears
“These other polls about Mitt being at 23% are pure BS”
Before everyone gets too excited, the polls showing Romney at 23% are “scientific, random samplings” of the general public. This Tea Party Patriot poll was limited to a very specific slice of the voting public, i.e., 900 members of the MO Tea Party Patriots. It’s of no more value in a national election than leading in a FR or any other online poll.
23% may not be much, but if the remaining 77% is divided among the remaining conservative candidates, with Ron Paul siphoning off a respectable %, it’s enough for Romney to win the nomination. These national polls are viewed as “pure BS” at the peril of Cain, Gingrich, Perry, Bachmann, Santorum and their supporters. The candidates and their campaign teams are far too savvy for that.
Naaaa...La Raza Rick is dumb as a stump. He’s polling at 3% and still dropping. Given his lack of intellect, his tremendous unfavorability rating among Republicans and conservatives alike, there’s not much chance for a comeback.
The "true conservative" was given the back of the hand by those heartless voters.
But Perry is a guy who can't take "no" for an answer.
In Perry's manaically egocentric head.....3% is proof-positive that he's a winner.
He'll probably rev up those million dollar ad buys on Fox ......reminding the electorate how "great" he is.
lol! And his supporters (all 5 of them) believe it too!
If you can't laugh, enjoy a good meal, and maybe a nip now and then...they've won.
What better way to go down than with a full stomach, a smile on your face and joy in your heart?
And a single vertical finger in their face for the hell of it {;^)
Who you with? Newtie or Huntsman?
I thought Herman Cain couldn’t survive? I guess Missourians forgot to play along so the Left and some Republicans (same thing) wouldn’t have to look stupid.
Go Herman Cain!
Go Herman Cain!
