The 'Dump Obama' movement has begun; Guess who'd replace him?
IBD Editorials ^ | November 21, 2011 | Andrew Malcom Political News & Commentary

Faced with peanut-sized Jimmy Carter poll numbers, disturbing big-donor reluctance, unacceptable unemployment and depressing economic forecasts, President Obama heads back on the road tomorrow to do what he always does when in trouble:

Call again for someone to do something about new jobs.

He's just back from eight days in Hawaii and Australia and Bali.

Now, he's off to palm-tree-free New Hampshire, where as expected Republicans have been plotting for months to oust him next Nov. 6.

Recent polls have Obama's disapproval around 50% and his approval 6-10 points lower, worse for his handling of the economy. That's the reverse of what it should be now for a good reelection shot. Nearly three-quarters of Americans feel the country is on the wrong track under his leadership.

But who thought the real emerging danger for the incumbent Democrat would be friendly fire from within his own party?

This morning's Wall Street Journal carries an overtly ominous op-ed for the president. It's by two Democrat heavyweight pollsters, Douglas Schoen and Patrick Caddell. Their first paragraph says it all:

"...who thought the real emerging danger for the incumbent Democrat would be friendly fire from within his own party?"

I did.

I said two years ago, that this would probably happen. It didn't take any sort of brilliant insight on my part to see this coming, either. It was entirely predictable.

I'll bet most conservatives have long thought the same thing.

The turkey he pardoned doesn’t even trust him. The turkeys on the super committee feel like old used turkeys, used for a cheap photo opportunity.

What a waste and backward direction this country took in 2008. The Democrat party has been a scourge on this country for the past 50 years - ... Johnson, Carter, Clinton (the ‘non-majority’ President), and Obama.

Here’s my hope (longshot). She knows she wouldn’t win the general, but she could still win a place in history by being the first woman at the top of a major party ticket, AND she’d get some measure of payback. It’s a lot of hassle to settle a score, but she might be capable of it.

Meanwhile, black voters stay home in the big cities, and pubbies get a big Senate majority!

Two months ago people were saying it was getting to be too late for Palin to get into the race. Why is there still time for Hillary to get in (other than she’s running against Obama?) Can she even get on the primary ballots in the early states?

Hillary is just as much a leftist as Obama.

Probably true, although she hides it better. I'll say one thing for Hillary, at least she's a real American and constitutionally eligible for the job (not that I want her to have it, mind you).
