This is the Heritage Foundation's Report on the Amensty Plan that the Bush Administration Proposed. If Newt's is similar add on inflation and the additional entitlement programs that Obama has added since 2007, and the cost to Taxpayers will be even more.
And we can all attest to how badly Reagan's plan failed. We have more illegals today and we are having to pay for all the social services our Country provides to them for free....but those inhumane ones amoung us who work do have pay reimburse the Government by paying taxes. Another instance of creating a bigger government and putting our Country into debt.
Why in the world would the Taxpayers want to support Amensty? Illegals were given the opportunity 25 years ago through the Reagan plan to fess up. What resulted was a magnet to come to our Country illegally to benefit from our generousity not our being inhumane as suggested by Mr. Newt Gingrich.

[shrug] We can afford it. We just need to tax the rich and make them pay their fair share. [/LibSpeak]

It will cost a hell of a lot more than that. The entire government will be made up of DemocRATS, Socialists, Marxists and Communists. (Redundant, I know.)

Amnesty basically means we’re not going to have borders any more.
The cost of that will be far more than can be measured in dollars.
Of course, one can make the argument that we haven’t had any real borders since approximately the 1980s, but that’s just me.

It will cost a lot more than that if you consider how many congressional districts are created by the excess population.

We will have to pay it. Simple as that.
Sorry but none of these candidates are going to enforce the laws or further secure the border. Even if they say they will, I don’t trust them.
I’ll believe it when I see it. This government has absolutely no intention whatsoever of securing that southern border. I don’t know if it has to do with votes or if they are scared of the cartels or what. But neither party wants to do anything about that problem.

Why in the world would the Taxpayers want to support Amnesty? Why would taxpayers want to support federal government control of everything under the sun?
Why would taxpayers elect 0bama?.....the band plays on.

I can't understand why our side constantly gets wrapped around the axle on this issue. All that needs to happen is for the incentives to immigrate illegally to be removed. Most will go.
Instead we insist on ladling on MORE incentives.

To be fair, Newt is assuming the “family” s here already. But you are correct, whatever the number is, it will double before it’s over. It has every time so far.

There are no disincentives to get anyone to move back to Mexico.

RE :”
Giving amnesty to illegal immigrants will greatly increase long-term costs to the taxpayer. Granting amnesty to illegal immigrants would, over time, increase their use of means-tested welfare, Social Security, and Medicare. Fiscal costs would rise in the intermediate term and increase dramatically when amnesty recipients reach retirement. Although it is difficult to provide a precise estimate, it seems likely that if 10 million adult illegal immigrants currently in the U.S. were granted amnesty, the net retirement cost to government (benefits minus taxes) could be over $2.6 trillion.”
I think I might have posted this article here in 2007 when HF posted it.
The costs of amnesty are never debated or even brought up by the MSM or even on FNC.

None of this really matters.
After Obama begins his second term, he will find a way. Obama will find the money.... he will get this done.... and everyone will be damn glad that Newt wasn’t fouling it all up.
Obama or Romney 2012......
