that is EXACTLY what Cain said.
All of this is just desperation on the Newt supporters part to try and paint Cain as weak on immigration too, when nothing could be further from the truth.
Nice try Newties.

Nothing in it about allowing states to grant amnesty or path
to citizenship outside the legal paths already established.

seems like a good idea, they would all remain in California and New York City and the rest of us could find jobs...
To: org.whodat
whodat- I didn’t see the video. But, as president, Mr. Cain would clearly have the authority to empower the States to enforce/administer federal immigration law.

INA ACT 287
g) (1) 1/ Notwithstanding section 1342 of title 31, United States Code, the Attorney General may enter into a written agreement with a State, or any political subdivision of a State, pursuant to which an officer or employee of the State or subdivision, who is determined by the Attorney General to be qualified to perform a function of an immigration officer in relation to the investigation, apprehension or detention of aliens in the United States (including the transportation of such aliens across State line s to detention centers), may carry out such function at the expense of the State or political subdivision and to extent consistent with State and local law.

Are you sure you are from Texas, most places you can walk across the river, but do not step on any of the brown sticks. And you are way out in the bushes if you think 2% perry has a change of winning anything.

Mr. Cainesty is okay with millions of illegals getting legal status, amnesty, or even citizenship so long as the federal government isnt doing it.
Unfortunately, you are a liar who is making it up as you go along. He said he's not in favor of amnesty. He's said that all along. He said he's in favor of the path to citizenship we already have, which has nothing to do with amnesty.
Why do you think you need to resort to lies to promote your candidate? So sad.
To: magna carta
Well, Cain will have to follow his own example and let the states deal with it. Isnt that what he said? Since the Texas legislature has decided this issue, Texans will be making those decisions. Im sure Cain couldnt be any happier.
To: Fred
The kiss of death is a tactic. It is not, however, a reality. Puhleeze, you are underestimating FReepers, if you think you can use that tired one here. No one cares whom it is the Marxists “claim” to admire or abhor. It’s old and time’s up.

Don’t be so critical. This is just the seedling of a “BOLD” immigration plan. It needs time to grow. Once it has a catch phrase or slogan it will become boldly viable. Then like his 999 plan, “once you understand it, you’ll demand it.” /sarc/

What the heck??? How do the States have any legal authority to deport any person? THEY DON’T, that is 100% Fed.
Cain is evolved to bagasse. What do they say about dying from 1000 paper cuts?

The amnesty supporters here are looking for a fig leaf to hide behind. They are one hundred percent behind their man because they support amnesty. Newt, Perry, and Willard all support amnesty. It is like the little part of the law under home land security where it says any illegal can be order and expedited deportation.
