Maxine Waters in line to take over from Frank on Financial Services
The Hill ^ | 11/28/11 | Peter Schroeder

Wall Street executives already are bracing for the possibility that Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) will take over as the senior Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee from Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.).

Waters is in line for Frank’s spot and could become chairwoman of the panel if Democrats retake the House. Frank will announce Monday that he will not seek another term in the House.

The California liberal is seen as to the left of Frank, the architect of 2010’s Wall Street reform bill, on financial issues.

While banks and other financial institutions often battled Frank, he was seen as someone they could work with. Waters, in contrast, is seen as more of an opponent.

“She's not a good face of the issues,” one financial executive said. “She's too much of a bomb thrower.”

There are reasons to think Democratic leaders would look to someone other than Waters, the second-ranking Democrat on the panel, to take over for Frank.

Waters is wrestling with a long-running ethics investigation over whether she helped secure federal funding for a bank in which her husband owned stock and previously served as a board member. Waters has maintained her innocence, and two attorneys on the House ethics committee were placed on leave for mishandling the case. An outside attorney is now investigating the matter.

“They're going to go with people who are universally respected,” said the financial executive. But a trade group president and former Hill staffer believed the top spot is Waters's to lose. This source pointed out that Waters brings geographical and racial diversity to the committee.

Jumping over Waters to another Democrat would also be a headache for Democratic leaders, as it would risk angering the Congressional Black Caucus.

I don’t know, but I’m suspecting Shakespeare would’ve had a blast with some of these people and situations they’re in! Could you picture a play done by him nowadays about Washington D.C.? Yikes!

Good! Put this reprobate right up there, front and center! The voting public needs to have a daily dose of this cretin.

To say that Maxine Waters (D-CA) is dumb as a box of rocks, insults both rocks and boxes. I prefer to say she’s dumber than dirt. That’s as basic as it gets.

We did elect a Muslim; according to BH0's own statement acknowledging McCain's not making an issue of/or, "talked about his Muslim faith",
a Freudian slip covered by his friendly interviewer (George Stephanopoulos): "You mean Christian faith"
"Oh, yes, my Christian faith..."
Like the issue would even come up. Not to mention all the other evidence of his "faith".

Why does this matter?

House
Membership

435 Members
5 Delegates
1 Resident
Commissioner

Party Divisions

242 Republicans
192 Democrats
0 Independents
1 Vacancies

Who gives a f* who the RATS pick to replace the old faggot?

Or did the wimp Republicans cede leadership on Financial Services?

It only matters if RATS retake the House. I don’t think they will but some pundits seem to think they have an outside chance.

they have at least a 50-50 chance. Never bet against the stupidity of the American voter.

The 2008 election showed the parasites that they could vote themselves a paycheck.
