Herman Cain’s Attorney [Basically] Admits Affair - Studies in failures to communicate.
Redstate ^ | 11/28/2011 | Leon H. Wolf

In breaking news this afternoon, a Georgia woman is claiming that she had a 13-year affair with Herman Cain. She says she has documents (whatever they might be) which can back it up. In what can only be described as the guiltiest-looking no-comment statement in the history of politics, Cain’s lawyer offered this absurd response (especially hilarious parts in bold):

*snip*

One of two things is true about this statement. Either Mr. Cain and his attorney are basing their views on what is an appropriate subject of media scrutiny for political candidates on the way politics work on another planet (perhaps another galaxy, even), or they are basically trying to telegraph to us that he completely did it. After following Cain’s campaign for the last several months, I would say either is equally likely. After all, basically the only reason a Presidential candidate would take a principled stand against admitting or denying that they had a multi-year affair on the woman to whom they are still married is if they have some principled objection to lying about having completely done it. And if that wasn’t the intended message, then Cain’s communications operation is even worse than we thought – which is really saying something.

“Ginger White produced cell phone records and the reporter reached Cain on the phone # she gave him. “

That must have been how Cain knew he was going to be outed. Pretty sly.

Newt was the amoral backstabbing weasel who with his ‘Contract with America’ took the house back from the Dems after 40 years, despite the best efforts of gerrymander committees nation wide.

His house impeached Clinton for perjury, despite his resignation.

I would vote for a syphilitic camel over Obama. I hope you would too. Not that we should settle early for a syphilitic camel.

What would Barney Frank (Dodd is my co-pirate) say about Newt? That he was sexually immoral? That he only took millions from Freddie Mac, rather than the hundreds of millions that Democrats took?

Mitt Romney has never cheated on his wife

If he becomes the nominee, and by some miracle pulls ahead of Obama, you can bet people will come forward to accuse him of:

1. Hiring illegals
2. Having affairs
3. All sorts of things

I haven't been for Cain because I have thought he is a phoney.

He is as quick to point the finger of blame and never accepts ANY responsibility for his mis-steps.

I don't trust him! I'm not in the least bit surprised to learn of this woman and wouldn't be to learn there are others out there.

48 hours out from the general election, the party’s pet RINO will trail by double digits and the geniuses will still be too stupid to get it.

“Ya gotta wonder how much the GOP elite has spend in both time and money to get Cain.”

Go with “he only lied about sex...everybody does it” then we can all be just like the Godless left.

But he admitted being friends with the woman and the cell phone numbers are his. So the only thing he may be truthful about is not sleeping with her. Can you be friends and not go all the way? People would say its still an affair when you exchange confidences with someone who is not your spouse. There are many different kinds of unfaithfulness and we have not heard a satisfactory explanation from Cain of what exactly went on between them for 13 years.

Well, why not. The two blonds popped up while he was the President of the National Restaurant Association ~ I can think of a number of reasons why you’d want to have someone in that job compromised.

My opinion is that if the accuser is honest Cain is a phony. Up till now, I’ve not really thought him one.

“Great lawyer, huh?”

Gosh, maybe he can still get him off...again...and then we can have our own Bill Clinton. That would be great, wouldn’t it Beaver?

The “relationship” lasted for 13 YEARS. Ended 8 months ago, last texts in Sept.

Oooooh. Texts!

I think of myself as absolutely faithful to my wife, but there are several women I've been in touch with whom I knew before I met my wife (40+ years ago). One of them I've corresponded with at least once a year and I've hugged her on the handful of times we've seen each other. My wife has been present on half of these occasions. It's hardly a big deal. Why don't folks wait to hear what Herman Cain has to say about this?

I don’t know about Perry, but if you want the goods on Mitt, read: “Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters?”. It is a fascinating read!

Either it was an acquaintance or an affair. It depends on whom is telling the truth.

If it wasn’t sexual, then what was it? Where there’s smoke, there’s fire and while I’m not interested in what else they may have done, giving each other private text numbers does raise interesting questions.

Apparently Cain's wife hasn't met her, yet Cain was helping this woman financially? Seriously. And Herman's supporters here don't seem to care? Nothing seems odd to them? Instead many are pointing out what a seedy woman this appears to be. And they might well be right too, which begs the question - why was Cain friends for all these years with this low rent woman and why was he giving her financial assistance - without his own wife knowing about it. Isn't Herman Cain a pastor? As if the wedding vows themselves aren't important enough, you'd think a pastor would know to be extra careful.

“Can you be friends and not go all the way??

Of course. Haven’t you ever had any friends of the opposite sex???

“People would say its still an affair when you exchange confidences with someone who is not your spouse.”

That would be stupid.
