AND the DOW is up 424...

Even though it's contrary to my self-interests, I want to see the DJIA and other economic indicators fall during the lead up to the general election. Any good news in that realm reflects favorably on the Marxist _resident. A sputtering economy guarantees the repudiation of the current regime by the electorate.

I'm in agreement with Rush Limbaugh and I want him (and his demonic administration) to fail.

My guts keep telling me that the OPPOSITE is going to occur. Obama and his administration are going to pull out all of the stops to show a "growing" economy from here on out. Even if they have to fake it.

when Team Obama goes on the offensive

Earlier this year, I occasionally offered up an observation that Sarah Palin could not win the general because of the MSM/Obama smear machine. Guess how well that went over on FR?

So I don't listen to arguments about "electability" any more.

ok ...all these polls are lying...aren’t they always lying when freepers disagree with them but they are solid gold when they do

Folks here think it’s still Dewey time. It’s not, polls are relatively accurate when taken as an aggregate.

This is a pretty futile fight. I've had people attempt to tell me that straw polls are more accurate than scientific polls.

I've seen people expound on the value of secret (actually non-existent, in what I suspect was a fundraising ploy) internal polls that showed Christine O'Donnell tied in the Delaware Senate Race.

Primary polls are always a special problem in that people constantly are actually changing their mind over time; however, at any given moment, the average of the scientific polls is likely a good snapshot of the beliefs of the electorate.

The problem is the nitwits who basically like polls with results they like, and consider polls with results they don't like invalid, BARELY know enough about polling methodology that they can scrape together a vaguely-plausible sounding technical reason why the poll they don't like is biased or invalid.

One of the problems with Republican candidates is that we don’t need the Democrats to kill our candidates we are doing that ourselves.

Havne’t heard one of the candidates attack Obama, they are too busy attacking each other.

Cain IS done. Watch him slide back into single digits by next week.

The only thing more delicious would be if Palin endorsed him.

I fully expect Cain to endorse Newt when he drops out.

The most entertaining would be Palin endorsing Romney, though that's unlikely of course.

Obama and his administration are going to pull out all of the stops to show a "growing" economy from here on out. Even if they have to fake it.

And faking a robust economy is their only option since the underlying foundation has disintegrated under the current Marxist regime.

That said, my evaluation is that Christmas 2011 will be very bleak indeed. The sad memories of massive unemployment, children not getting presents this year and families suffering under the burden of Zero's economy will last well into the general election. Any tricks or hyped numbers that that Keyan spins will be all for naught.

The dire economic straits present a rare opportunity for the GOP to go extremely Conservative. That's what it will take to recover from the suffering he and his minions have caused.

I could not agree more. David Axlerod must be laughing himself silly after reading the threads here on Free Republic.

Good points. All the enemy needs to do is read through these threads to not only get ideas on who and what to attack, but they find information that best sinks in with the base.

Conservative Forum? I'm beginning to wonder. It almost is starting to resemble the tone at the radical Marxist sites.

Agreed... it’s worth the loss to get rid of that country wrecking crook.

But after the last 3 weeks of ugly, I am really liking how today started. ;>)

Would LOVE to see Newt as president; Cain as Chairman of the Federal Reserve; Bolton as Sec of Defense and OBAMA as Ambassador to Central Africa:) would give Perry a cabinet position too.

Cain is history, I can bring myself to support Newt if it means stopping Romney.

This is the central point, one that just keeps aluding many Freepers. We must coalesce aound a candidate, and soon, to defeat Romney.

How do you think Newt is going to look on stage next to Obama? Obama looks young and fit - Newt looks old and fat.

Newt is able to conjer up coherent and pertinent points and put them into historical context, while the Interloper needs a teleprompter to recite someone else’s written words. The only points Obama can recite from rote are from Mao’s Little Red Book or Alinksy’s Rules for Radicals.

By the way, the youth are gravitating to Newt because of his sharp wit. Ever hear Obama tell a joke?

I’ll repeat myself - does anyone actually think that the media is going to allow a venue where Newt will be able to outshine their Messiah Obama? Really??? Our candidate is going to have to have a lot more than debating skills to beat Obama in his protected media enclave. They are holding a lot of fire to use on Newt until he is the nominee - and then they will destroy him before he has a chance to ‘out-debate’ Obama.

I really don’t understand why people can’t see this.

So, I guess the GOP grand poo-bahs have made a deal in the smoky back rooms and Newt is now the chosen one. They are putting another McCain on us (although I don’t think Newt is nearly as bad).

Give us Cain!
