Ok, I hear you. But you're on here posting about how Cain hasn't done this or that (to your satisfaction) without knowing what he HAS done to defend against this allegation. There is at least one interview, with Neil Cavuto on Fox News, lasting roughly 15 minutes, where he does EXACTLY what you complain that he has not done.

I don't mean to be snarky here, but seriously, you are talking about what a great Christian you are and all, yet you are making false accusations about Cain, and you are judging him, and you are finding him guilty, in each of your posts. And in your later post to me, you say you haven't had “time” to watch the video. But you have time to FReep and post all these negative and unfounded posts about Cain??

Again, I don't mean to be a jerk, but how about you watch the entire video interview, and THEN form an opinion. I won't argue with your opinion after you have an INFORMED opinion.

Isn't that fair?

I believe you are exactly right. However, now that you've watched the video, I presume you have a much different opinion than you would have if you had only read the headlines, or if you had even gone so far as to read the articles. The written word doesn't do the story any justice — ever. There is a reason most of our communication is non-verbal, and newsprint doesn't convey the same information that a video does.

Even you, who is not a Cain fan, are now somewhat defending him after watching the video. Yet we have FReepers who won't spend the 15 minutes to watch the video. They will FReep for hours at a time, but not spend 15 minutes to get to the heart of the matter. They will post how horrible Cain is, and how he isn't doing it right (no matter what he does, I might add), etc.

We can't even get FReepers to do their homework, so there's no way the General Public will do any homework. It's an uphill battle against an ignorant population that chooses to remain ignorant. (Now do people see why Cain put out the 9-9-9 CARTOON? Because the electorate is a bunch of ignorant name-calling CHILDREN, and a CARTOON is exactly the right METHOD to get the message across to the ignorant masses — whether you like 9-9-9 or not, but that's another subject.)

I guess the good news is that a recent poll suggested that Cable TV News is where a good chunk of people get their news. So hopefully that means a good chunk of people will watch the video(s) of Cain themselves, and get “the real info” from Cain, rather than reading it in print.

(PS: Caps are for emphasis, not yelling.)

You could definitely be correct about Cain’s long-term effect on the World As They Know It.

The Left definitely doesn’t want the Black community to run away from the Plantation. So they’re pulling a Roots on Cain.... They are trying to “Kunta Kinte” him and every other Black American so they don’t run away.

Reread my post and you will see that I don't judge Cain as innocent or guilty. I don't care about that. And it isn't my satisfaction I care about when I speak to his taking the fight to the enemy...it is his standing with voters (which is damaged but not beyond repair).

I will watch that interview again as you suggest, but as one poster said...Herman needs to unleash h$ll on his attackers because this is just the beginning.

Obama plays dirty, it's the Chicago way. Herman does not need to fight dirty, but what he may lack in dirt, he must compensate for with toughness and effectiveness.

Watch both halves of the interview, not just the first one.

In the real world, things take time. You don’t just “slap a suit” on someone in a couple hours’ time. I don’t know what world you live in, but the story broke 2 days ago. Maybe you’ve heard that the court system is jammed, and you can’t slap together a suit in a few minutes. They are moving as fast as possible in the real world. And Cain’s lawyer is on it:

I am a semi-retired investment banker and have plenty of experience with law suits and lawyers. It's not the suit itself but a lawyer's and Cain's response at this point that is threatening to Ginger White. And I think things are moving along fine on that front as of this morning.

That said, Cain's lawyer (and I am quite familiar with Lin Wood) stumbled out of the gate on this one by not conferring with his client before he made a public statement (the one about how the bedroom is off limits for the press).

BTW, the world I live in is the one wherein you respond to attacks ferociously and immediately. Cain better stop worrying about his wife and get out front of this crap.

Yes, something was amiss between Wood and Cain regarding Wood's published statement and Cain going on Blitzer’s show and talking about it. That's another thing that doesn't ring true here though: Cain doesn't seem to have an off button for his mouth — he's an open book. So I can't imagine him not getting “caught” if he was having an affair. He is getting better though. Cavuto asked him twice at the end of the interview about whether he would be in or out of the race by this time next week, wanting him to say “In” or “Out.” But Cain held his ground, and repeated his answer twice, saying “We will have an answer next week.” So he's improving on how to respond to the press.

And I tend to agree with you, about “stop worrying about his wife and get out front of this crap.” But I'm a bit more matter-of-fact when it comes to this stuff, and in my world, my spouse would have to suck it up for awhile while “we” get through it. But I'm harsh like that, and anyone who is my better-half knows how I am about that sort of thing. Lead, follow, or get out of the way. I expect my spouse to support me through the BS, and be by my side until they start pulling dead bodies out of the trunk of my car.

But I think Cain, on the other hand, has a huge soft spot in his heart for Mrs. Cain. We have all seen how he speaks so well of her, and we see his lovely children, and we know you don't build a wonderful family like that without being a very good man at heart.

I've also known many a man who are brilliant and powerful in their work, but complete mushballs when it comes to women. Mrs. Cain can probably get Herman to do anything she asks of him. And I've also known many man who are complete idiots when it comes to women. I have one friend who makes good money, but any woman can get money out of him 7 days a week. I know another guy who has THREE women who use him for his money. “I need to pay my electric bill.” Here's $80. “I need to buy shoes for my son.” Here's $60. Until there is none left for the man who earned the money!

Women (not all, of course) can be the most conniving, vicious, revenge-taking animals on the planet. Cain is at risk for being taken advantage of because of his kindness.

Hopefully, Lin Wood will take the lead on this in a public way, and that will reassure people. Wood apparently made the Bialek / Krushaar / Gloria Allred crap go away, even though the nay-sayers will refuse to acknowledge that.

My tagline is for all the people who come to every Cain thread and do nothing but bash Cain.

I don't like certain candidates, but I don't waste my time going to those threads. I don't know why people who hate Cain (and it is hate, make no mistake) come to Cain threads. Their hatred is flowing out every pore of their body, and they can't help themselves. They really should pray and ask God to take away that hatred.

That was a long post with many points...and I happen to agree with all of them.

If Cain can get up a little higher on the learning curve (where it begins to flatten out a bit), he could win and go on to be a great president.
