He needs to lay out the details from his point of view and demand the same from her.

He actually began doing that in this interview. He didn't duck or dodge any questions and was very specific with his answers. Cain mentioned that he helps a lot of people and that his assistance to this woman wasn't unusual. Who are the people that typically need help most often? Those who find themselves down on their luck on a regular basis. And those people might have exactly the kind of issues this woman has. Listening to Cain's interview on Cavuto, one is left with the impression it is a bit like a foster parent that gets burned by a few of the kids they try to help. Overall rewarding, but sometimes bad apples will bite the hand that feeds.

His lawyer needs to consider suing her for whatever she has been paid and then going after those who have paid her.

I wouldn't say doing that during the campaign is a good idea. His lawyer can make it clear that in the future they may pursue legal action against these slanders, but Herman needs to focus on the campaign at the moment. Anyone in the public spotlight is susceptible to these sorts of accusations, and if Cain keeps doing interviews like this one the problem will be sufficiently dealt with for now. This is really a PR issue at the moment, not a legal one. Court fights can be dealt with after the campaign is over.

I will admit that I am p!ssed that Cain has handled this matter so clumsily. He has the potential to be a great man...but we live in small, internet-connected times.

He needs to own-up or kick the sh!!te out of this woman.

This isn't about honor or family or chastity...this is about County.

Cain needs to stand up and march...or sit down and STFU.

I hear you loud and clear.

But Cain needs to take action and remove any doubt. If he does as you suggest he might...there might be hope.

I sure hope so...

Spot on.

I've watched a lot of Cain's interviews. Mostly because I don't believe a WORD of what the media says, even if they say the Sun rises in the East. So I always go to the video to see it for myself. The Libya gaffe, for example: The snipped video looked HORRIBLE. I was mortified. Then I watched the entire 35 minute interview, and I saw that (a) it wasn't as bad as the snipped version made it look (not by a long shot), and (b) Cain was medically fatigued in that interview.

(I'm in the Safety field, and we talk about Fatigue all the time.)

This Cavuto interview is Cain when he is rested. He apparently only needs 4 hours sleep per night, which isn't enough anyway, and I'm sure he is burning the candle at both ends on the campaign trail and is probably getting only 2 hours sleep many nights. So I have observed there are days when Cain is rested, and days when he is fatigued. He does great when he is rested, and thankfully, that is most of the time now. After the Libya gaffe, his campaign recognized he needed more rest, so they trimmed an engagement or two. Rule #1, take care of yourself first, or you can't help others. He needs to follow Rule #1 and get enough rest.

There will be plenty of people who will say Cain should never get fatigued, and that “If Cain wants to be President, he should be able to do all things at all times and know everything about everything, and be God's Gift to Mankind at all hours of the day or night, whether he's had 1 hour of sleep that week or not!”

But that's not reality. Reality is that it's much harder physically to campaign for the Presidency than it is to be President. (People will not read my words, and think I'm saying it's not hard to be President, so I'll say it again: It is much harder PHYSICALLY to campaign than it is to be President.)

The President has an army of staff at his disposal, and he can delegate everything and anything, and be sure to get adequate rest — except in the first hours of a crisis. But no “crisis” lasts for months on end like the campaign trail does. And a well-rested person can go 3 days with no sleep, working on just adrenaline. So in a crisis, any President would be fine for the first 3 days, then he can get some rest.

(My posts are always way too long. Apologies everyone.)

So you have NOT watched both parts of the two-part video of the interview with Neil Cavuto, right?

I did not argue Cain's innocence or guilt. Just that he should fight back.

If he is guilty, admit it. If he is innocent...fight back with the truth at your side.

I may misunderstand your POV...but if Cain is innocent...he needs to fight back. He needs to demonstrate how he would defend the country against false accusations. He needs to define his courage...his character...his soul.

He is after all... a minister first.

I have given my life to Christ...He is the first One to whom I pay my dues...He is the one to whom I answer, first and last.

Cain is a minister to our Lord...isn't that his commitment?

I don’t remember Gingrich having any women falsely accuse him of sleeping around on his wives.

Herman wouldn’t ask it of them, but it would help for some of the others he’s “helped” to step forward with true stories supporting the pattern Herman is stating here.

His brothers need to ask on Herman’s behalf. His defenders need to step up to the plate and speak!

Well, you know Cain is not my candidate. I have disagreements with him on policy and other issues, but I don’t want to see him unfairly smeared. I also hold folks on our side to a higher standard and tend to be tougher on them when they don’t deal with issues and the media the way I’d like to see.

My critique about Cain regarding these affair allegations has simply been that he hasn’t handled them well till today (in my opinion). If there is nothing there, he should be completely upfront and answer every question. I think he did that in this Cavuto interview, and if he continues along these lines I think he can put these accusations behind him and perhaps come out stronger.

There are some things that really unite us and one is a hatred for the left wing, statist mainstream media. If Cain is open, specific, and answers all the questions and explains why these charges are bogus he will generate a lot of sympathy from all conservatives whether they support him for President or not. And if it were possible for him to ever PROVE the allegations were complete lies and smears, well he will have done ALL conservatives a great service and make a lot of people take a second look at him.

I have a different theory for why the MSM is ripping Cain to pieces with glee. In my view, it isn’t that they are afraid he can beat Obama. I really don’t think most in the establishment ever believed Cain would be the nominee. What I do think they are afraid of is how much more powerful Cain was going to be as a force in the future. Even if he doesn’t win, Herman was poised to come out of this primary as a major black conservative voice recognized by nearly everyone. Cain will likely end up on TV all the time, perhaps his own show, etc. THAT, in my view, is what the liberal establishment and race hustlers fear most.

He said his lawyers have requested Ginger White’s phone and text records to prove his side of this.

Yeah, I think he is trying to point out that the communication is mostly one way. Sounds like she was mostly texting and calling Cain, and he was maybe just responding occasionally.

I think if Cain just answers all the questions the way he did on Cavuto's show he will go a long, long way to resolving this stuff. Let the media ask everything they want, is there is nothing to hide then Cain can just answer openly and specifically. At that point it puts the ball back in her court. If she's got nothing more, the issue is dead. There would just be nowhere further to go with it.
