Call me when we have one of these orbiting the planet so we can just target the bad guys from space.

Guess that’s why we aren’t generals.

Aircraft (probably UAVs) skimming the upper atmosphere or stationary platforms with kinetic projectiles are coming, it's just a matter of time. From what I've read about this, a platform launching three or four 100kg rods from space will definitely ruin someone's day!

That stationary platform was featured on the cover of Popular Science about three years ago.

The MALD is certainly being oversold. There are existing predecessors to it as well that are already fielded.

Not exactly true ~ but they would create havoc for a while. I think such behavior would result in the resurrection of a more ancient custom called "tribute" and whatever nation got involved in that would simply be reduced to slavery for several centuries.

I know that if a bunch of idiots shut down my Internet and TV and made my car inoperable I would want to see them put to the yoke!

If they could do that, you might end up in the yoke.

One of the major advantages to being in a continent size nation is it would be nearly impossible for any of the smaller powers to do much more than damage a small part.

The remaining part continues to be exceedingly powerful. Plus we have atomic submarines at sea all over the place.

I think the odds are the yoke goes on "them", and not "us".

I guess it would really depend on who they are, but I’m sure you’re correct.

I don’t know what it is, but I was pointing out that fast moving missiles can track targets
