What Are the Most Dangerous Shows Your Kids Are Watching Without You?
Foxnews ^ | 12/05/2011 | By Jo Piazza

With more devices than ever that stream television content — including iPads, smart phones, computers, and plain old TVs — the ability of parents to police their kids' viewing habits has eroded significantly. This can be particularly concerning to parents who don't want their children watching television shows featuring sex, drugs, and violence, with nary a consequence in sight.

Thanks for the link

I was most impressed with the Riflemans ability to shoot sitting / standing / running /off his back or rolling ... and then there was the Hollywood when he shot the guy in the hand.
The other Hollywood trick was that his Rifle supposedly fired each time it cocked and yet he could twirl it and then pull the trigger...

Fun to watch ... have to watch it again, didn’t see Sammy Davis (One of my all time Favs)

Agreed. The ‘68 GCA was the worst piece of knee jerk crap ever run through by our ‘leaders’. Didn’t make a squat of diff then or now. Never will either. You can’t legislate against a hard heart and it has always been so.

Sammy was in at exactly 2 minutes into the vid. Only about 4 seconds of play tho. More of the Sammy/Rifleman episode on youtube, just type it into the search box.

**** “ I have a few complete CD sets, Sea Hunt, Route 66, The Untouchables, Then Came Bronson among them but no, Have gun Will Travel but it is on the list. HGWT was GREAT show!! ****

Forgot about Sea Hunt ... it had a major role in my choice of adventures and later why I couldn’t get enough of Jacques Cousteau ... I still have my PADI International Card but haven’t been diving in probably 20 years... but I still love the water

>>Do you block Japanese anime subtitling sites?<<

I got many surprises viewing Japanese Pokemon sites before my kiddies. Yikes!

But now since they are older we are into Gaki no Tsukai. And I watch it with them. In fact, we watch as a family. Nothing better than a good batsu game to crack you up.

Just make sure you watch more than just the first episode on some of those programs.

Trust me, there were YEARS of Pokemon to be gone through. I think I know those Pocket monsters as well as they do.

We ended up with a “broken” tv, unfortunately. But when we had one, I set the rule that my husband or I had to sit and watch it with the kids. That cured that!

I let my kids watch whatever they want to watch.

Me too. I have 4 and they may watch anything they want. I'd have a hard time monitoring them, so I just say, let 'em go. The youngest is only 37 and I hope they grow up ok, despite my uncaring attitude.

Some others from your [misspent] youth -

Heckle and Jeckle
Beany and Cecil
Tom & Jerry
Tennessee Tuxedo
Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy
Topcat
Ricochet Rabbit

And, from a slightly later era -

The Flintstones
The Jetsons
The Banana Splits (not animated, but featured several animated series)
Hong Kong Fooey
Scooby Doo
The Groovy Goolies
The Archies
Josie and the Pussy Cats

Just a few that come readily to mind...

I wouldn’t want kids watching Beavis and Butthead, but when you’re an adult, many of the episodes are hilarious.

Likewise, FX’s “Archer” is an adult cartoon, replete with sexual situations, language, etc. That being said, it is also extremely funny (but DON’T watch it with your kids, unless they’re 30)

Actually, my husband showed me one he heard about when he was in Japan.

Some things one sees cannot be unseen, ya know?
